I have that there there are some gods who have committed the crime of rape in some religions. So does God himself masturbate? simple pleasuresI think this is an important question. Condemning masturbation as a sin, in my opinion, places a heavy burden on individuals, especially our impressionable youth. Even with religious connotations aside, masturbation is often considered "unmanly" or "unwomanly"; and those who are discovered participating in masturbation are often ridiculed and considered "lops who can't get the real thing"; or "perverts"; etc. These kinds of messages strike at the heart of human sexuality and have direct negative influences on our self-image and self-worth.
For this reason, I feel that this is an important topic to discuss.
I am a former believer. In fact, I am a former fanatic. For the purpose of this thread, I will respond as if I still believed as I once believed; and I will state my case based on the perspective I had as a former question.
So I ask: Do you hold masturbation to be a sin; and why or why not?
All religions have some agendas - something which help them to propagate. It is part of their strategy- Don’t eat that meat, Don’t do that, Don’t do this etc.I think this is an important question. Masterbation is a sin. When you masterbate do you think lustful thoughts? My guess is yes. Jesus says those who look with lust (meaning lustful thoughts) have already committed adultery in there heart. (Matthew 5:28)
Do you hold masturbation to be a sin; and why or why not?
Really trying to justify it? Ok, lust is looking. Does anyone think any lustful thoughts while masterbating? That's looking in the mind. Just because you don't see it visually makes no difference if you see it in your thoughts. Same thing applies. And I highly doubt anyone masturbates without thinking about someone in some way lolSo we have gone from thinking thoughts in the privacy of our bedrooms to; what; Voyeurism? Pornography?
Let's look at the scripture again:
Matthew 5:28 - New King James Version (NKJV)
28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
... One more time, with emphasis added ...
Matthew 5:28 - New King James Version (NKJV)
28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
to lust: Intent. Pornography. Peeping. Voyeurism. Performing a certain activity (looking) with the intent of creating that mood-altering experience (like drugs and alcohol do).
So, what in the heck does this verse have to do with privately masturbating alone in the dark in a safe, appropriate and sanitary manner?
Well you do seem to know all about it lol.Really trying to justify it? Ok, lust is looking. Does anyone think any lustful thoughts while masterbating? That's looking in the mind. I think everyone does at some point in there life sadlyWell you do seem to know all about it lol.
I do feel sorry for you, but you can only do what you believe is right for YOU.I think everyone does at some point in there life sadly
While masturbation is a normal developmental behaviour, for the Catholic any use whatsoever of the sexual faculty that is not connected to the unitive and procreative function of sex and within the confines of marriage is a sin. However the actual gravity of the sin can vary greatly depending on the circumstances. For example, someone of relative immaturity does not hold the same level of guilt as an older teen or adult who really ought to have more self-restraint.So I ask: Do you hold masturbation to be a sin; and why or why not?

Additionaly, the reason why religious people accept"masturbation is a sin","eating Pork is a sin", "eating beef is a sin","prostitution is a sin"etc is all part of human psychology. All religions have some agendas - something which help them to propagate. It is part of their strategy- Don’t eat that meat, Don’t do that, Don’t do this etc.
Muslims abstain from pork considering it unholy, Hindus abstain from beef because of holy reasons – whatever it is, it is the religion that made them to take such decisions. Just tell them it’s bad, that’s enough – and people will accept it without any reason. It is human psychology. If there is someone who question this; answer him by saying - “oh, well the holy text prohibits it”. That should be enough for the most. If someone still keep on asking why – threaten him somehow, after all the person who question has a lot to lose.
Similarly is the case with masturbation; It is just human psychology that some people accept it as a sin. (Religion is the real culprit behind this).
Now those who have accepted it as a sin, may put forward various reason and theories why it is a sin – but then it is all a line drawn in water.
Prostitution is considered sin in some religion, whereas there are holy (fortune telling) prostitutes in some other religion who are given a high position in the temple.
Various animals do this, monkeys, apes etc. I don’t think they are committing a sin.
Really trying to justify it? Ok, lust is looking. Does anyone think any lustful thoughts while masterbating? That's looking in the mind. Masterbation necessarily requires lustful thoughts. And fantasies have negative consequences. They can lead to obsessions, comparing women based solely on outer appearances etc... And it usually invokes porn which has waaaasy more consequences then that my friend. So whether natural or not, does it benefit my mind or does it corrupt it. Does it put me in bondage to need to do it again when the feeling comes like an addicted drug. That's the question. And it in no way helps any mental state or thought about women or anything else. Porn does Kill-mentally and emotionally. And Masterbation while seeming innocent, hurts you and in the long term, lust that you have will hurt others.Putting oneself through all that hardship, shame, guilt and remorse over completely normal and instinctual behavior that harms absolutely nobody is pointless and potentially even self-destructive.
I find the whole shaming of normal masturbation to be quite repugnant, as it shames us to the very core of who we are as sexual human beings.
Unlike psychoslice, its not really "you" that I pity; but I pity those with impressionable minds that you will drag into your world of self-shaming.

Are there exceptions? Some guys do get so hooked on a certain amount of pressure during masturbation or the stimulation of porn that they can't perform with a partner, says Ian Kerner, PhD, a sex therapist and author of She Comes First.
Still, Kerner says those guys are the exception. "For the vast majority of men, masturbation is a healthy thing," he says. "I'm usually more concerned about a guy who's stopped masturbating -- which can be a sign of anxiety or health problems -- than a guy who's doing it regularly."
