I was wondering what other people think about money and this society based on money. Would another world without money be possible?
How do you feel about barter and murder-based economy?I was wondering what other people think about money and this society based on money. Would another world without money be possible?

What worth does gold have, exactly? Beyond its use as a conductor, anyway? Fun fact, the notion that a gold or other precious-metal based economy is better than fiat currency is...utterly baseless. Gold has worth because we all agree it's valuable. Its only remotely unique properties are that it's semi-rare and utterly useless at anything outside conducting a current. Fiat currency is just the natural evolution of that.yes, I was thinking that money helps us to simplify the exchange of goods....what we change the means of exchange from worthless paper to gold, for example?
My friend just told me: "I just burned my remaining money and I am living money free with many other amazing people."

I remember way back when, when I possed the same question just not as elegantly and brief.
I honestly do not like money. I am litterally broke with no spare change, I kinda planed it so I can pay rent. Toss up? Roof or Money. So, I picked roof. I think I had a short lived panic, depression before my internet and phone dies. And just a month of biting mg teeth Id get through.
If I didnt need food, Id be in a fasting state of mind. In religious text, a lot focus on the "lust of the flesh" and in Ameica its more "lust of the dollar"... pay before you play.
Its also a trust issue. Money is linked with trust. I notice that some of us put trust in those who "dont spend their money junk".... banks look at credit before you can get practically anything.
Its like our worth is based on the dollar. I volunteered most my life. Now I work, vol, and go to school. I value education and putting effort in ones passion. I dont value money.
In my opinion, long story short, it does inslave people. Watch someone's face when you say "you volunteer as a teacher" vs "I work as a professor" and you'll see the difference. That or if you are in America VA/DC/MD probably NY dont know. Drop a penny on the floor and watch the eyes of everyone mentally struggling whether they should pick it up and with no one looking.
Facial expressions are something.
Edit.
If we had a more community outlook than we wouldnt need money because the animals, foods, and goods would be dorect exchange for services etc. I dont know how that would work in the techno age. If Im working to put actual food on my plate, say an animal or two, that I understand. What type of and how do you measure the type of service if you are getting a cell phone instead?
You know, I have noticed one thing about money....It is like a drug....you get a small dosage, but you want more and more with no end to it.....I see nothing wrong in paying for goods and services with money, especially if you are lucky enough to make a fortune doing what you love and what brings you fulfillment. However, there is one thing that I do not like (mildly speaking): people worship the golden Taurus and give their life, their priceless life for the buck....The problem is when you want money just for money and nothing more...no wishes, no desires, no charity. Just psychotic accumulation of wealth....Remember the Christmas Carol?
Haha. True. Here's the cliff hanger of my situation. Our housing community sometimes to go the casino once a year. I missed the last one. Think I should join them Friday....

What a waste, your friend could have sent me that money and saved the cash spent on a lighter instead...My friend just told me: "I just burned my remaining money and I am living money free with many other amazing people."
I wouldn't think so. Some sort of bartering would take its place. Instead of five dollar bills, you might exchange something else. I think a market would re-emerge eventually.Would another world without money be possible?
Did you get this idea from Gaddafi ? You need to be careful then !!!yes, I was thinking that money helps us to simplify the exchange of goods....what if we change the means of exchange from worthless paper to gold, for example?

Pretty much. And on top of that, we are bombarded with advertisements, turning people into buying/hording drones who have to go do more work to make more money to buy more stuff they don't need or really even want, which means the have to go do even more work to make even more money to go buy even more junk.Private ownership over the means of production is what leads to this "enslavement".
Clearly, it does enslave some people. Such as, how many base their career decisions based on what will make them the most money rather than what they'd actually rather be doing.Or those who dedicate their entire lives to acquiring as much of it as possible.Woe unto people who believe little green pieces of paper can enslave them.
