I don't really utilize liturgy or preaching.
There are certainly charlatans exploiting the irrationality of the people in my opinion, however since not all people are strictly rational, some of it comes from the irrational people themselves, it is not purely from their fraudulent overlords.

Knowledge has various sources. Your propositions should typically be derived from the knowledge you had gained from these sources. For some people their knowledge comes from their intention. Their intention turns into their source of knowledge.
That is what has happened to you. Thats the reason you will never be able to provide good data for your ideas but only statements not based on data but your own intentions. One thing is that you would assume all the religious leaders are like you, creating propositions based on their intentions, and the second thing is you will believe your heart so much and make your propositions it is like the preaching of a new cult leader or a small religious leader who has no data but his preaching which sound so passionate and true.
This kind of observation used to be in these so called "religious folk" some time ago. But now it seems the tide has turned.
