Is salvation a Person or a concept?

Salvation is a process that leads us to a state of mind where we are running on all cylinders. Most people are not running on all cylinders, most of the time, due to neurosis, personal problems, inhibitions, repressions, desires, irrationalities, lack of opportunity, peer pressures, mass mind, the hardest of others, etc. A path to salvation helps one overcome these distractions that bog you down. The born again approach is like bringing the tired old car to the shop for a new motor and drive train. It involves discarding the old ways that bogged you down so you can run free on the open road ; Spirit.

What's your process for achieving this state of mind? For example, in some eastern traditions a person might commit to a daily meditation practice with at least goal goal being to achieve an ongoing state of equanimity. IS it something like that?

Really, this thread is barely "comparative" since I only know two religions which regard mankind as fundamentally "broken" — Christianity and Buddhism — and the Buddhists haven't shown up!

Biblical salvation is a concept invented by humans, based on the mystery religions prevalent at the time. But in reality, there is no need to be saved from anything. God is not interested in destroying those he created to be "very good".

Everyone regardless of religious affiliation is welcome to express their thoughts. I personally believe Salvation is the Person of Jesus Christ. He also goes by Yeshua, the Hebrew word for salvation. Just my religious opinion, but I want to hear yours.
This may sound like a dumb question, but saved from what?

The Baha'i Writings have for me some significant statements re. salvation:

"I confess that Thou hast no desire except the regeneration of the whole world, and the establishment of the unity of its peoples, and the salvation of all them that dwell therein."

~ Baha'u'llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, p. 243

"You ask if, through the appearance of the kingdom of God, every soul hath been saved. The Sun of Reality hath appeared to all the world. This luminous appearance is salvation and life; but only he who hath opened the eye of reality and who hath seen these lights will be saved."

~ Abdu'l-Baha, Baha'i World Faith - Abdu'l-Baha Section, p. 389

"The kingdom of peace, salvation, uprightness and reconciliation is founded in the invisible world, and it will by degrees become manifest and apparent through the power of the Word of God!"

~ Abdu'l-Baha, Baha'i World Faith - Abdu'l-Baha Section, p. 409

"Suffer this servant, I beseech Thee, to attain unto that which is the cause of his salvation in every world of Thy worlds. Thou art, verily, the Almighty, the Most Powerful, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise."

~ Baha'u'llah, Prayers and Meditations by Baha'u'llah, p. 251
