Is smoking a sin?

Seems to me that according to this scripture, doing anything that needlessly endangers your bodily healthy is a sin. Smoking. Drinking too much. Eating too much. Being out in the sun too much without sunscreen.

But I would hardly take a Neopagan's word as an authority on the matter.
Ahh but needfully endangering your bodily health is quite acceptable?

It is acceptable since it is personal choice. I think one can do whatever they want to themselves as long as it is not affecting anyone else. Of course there is second hand smoke and increased medical costs associated with these decisions, but that is a political matter.

The Spanish introduced tobacco to Europeans in about 1518, prior to that it was solely in the Americas. Since none of the religions didn't even know of this product before its introduction, there is no way there is any reference to it in any scripture. Therefore it can not be a sin.

Jesus asked:

"I think one can do whatever they want to themselves as long as it is not affecting anyone else."

My question to you Jesus is what can you do that doesn't affect someone else in some way or other? :)
