Is Someone a Hypocrite if They Don't Know It?

Say someone is following a religious text or in any circumstance, they think they're doing everything right, and yet due to their level of intelligence, they don't actually realize they're being hypocritical; are they then a hypocrite? o_O

Like can you convict someone of being a hypocrite, if they don't actually know what they've been charged for?

Hypocrisy can be a fallacy, yes.

I don't think it's a crime anywhere.

One could say they are, but I'd call the action rather than the person "hypocritical".

Most hypocrites don't see their hypocrisy. When it's pointed out, they usually end up denying it anyway. The problem with hypocrisy is that you don't see it.

I don't even consider it a problem. Judging people by what they say is like judging a book by its cover, you could do it but you'll probably be surprised in the end.

I think that anyone who believed he or she is "doing everything right" might be called stupid.
It is my opinion that it is not really possible to know I am doing anything right, though I think it is not possible for anyone to do everything wrong. To be doing everything right is to be perfect. Who believes there is such a thing as a perfect human?
What does right mean anyway?

Then I realize I have taken the conversation off course again. (I am sorry).

Can someone be convicted of hypocrisy if he or she doesn't know about his or her hypocrisy?

Yes, I believe so.

Should he or she be labeled a hypocrite for the hypocrisy? No, I think not.

there are two levels of ignorance

they who are not informed are ignorant
they who choose to ignore are profoundly ignorant

hence the two levels of ignorance
Ignorance means not knowing. Hypocrisy is about a person's opinion of his or her self.
I don't think hypocrisy is about ignorance. I think it is about opinion.
The person is blind to his or her own faults. How is pointing their faults out to them going to do anything? Can you make a person see?

Um...
I have no idea what you are asking.

Can a hypocrite be a hypocrite if they do not know they are a hypocrite?
Yes.
One does not have to know they are a hypocrite to be a hypocrite.

Ignorance of the law is no exception to the law.

Yes, you can be a hypocrite without knowing it. If this is the case, it just makes you an ignorant hypocrite.
