Is The Bible Finished?

Is the Bible done? Is there anything that we can add to it in our day and age? Does anyone think that the Bible could have benefited from an annual updated “Yearbook” feature. Does GOD exclude anything written after the Bible or does GOD just not want the one that is in print tampered with or altered?

I personally believe that there should be no addition to the Bible; the bible seems to have been written with the future in mind. I have always been drawn to Ecclesiastes, upon which I look at as a 'Time-line diary of us humans on Earth'; I have my very best friend to thank for that (Strangely enough the father of an ex girl friend; long after the girl and I had parted ways, I remained her father's friend until he tragically died)

The contents of the Bible were determined by the Church. An addition will only happen if the Church feels the need for it, which means never...

It is even possible that this does not exhaust the possibilities.

I am of the belief that the bible should be updated with current and relevant information. What I would like to know is when it was decided that no more teachings should be added onto the bible?

The Bible states that no "man" shall add to it or take away from it. Yet the Bible also states that Christ will return. This has happened 3 times, and each time a new book was revealed:
Muhammed - Quran
The Bab - Bayan
Baha'u'llah - Kitab-i-Aqdas

actually there is a proposal in the vatican to add SOME of the appocryphal and dead sea scrol nag hammedi kinda thang texts....

Personally I beeive that "change is the ONLY constant in the world".......thus any religion that is unwiling to change.......is doomed to go the way pof the dinosaur.......

BUT Christianity DOES change......just slowy

In my opinion....the static unchanging nature of Islam is its greatest weakness.....until Islam allows the divine feminine into it....it too is doomed .....

but thats just opinion.........

"everyone is teling THE truth...all of the time.....everyone is teling THE truth..ALL of the time......its just that times change" ----Genesis P Orridge

I think that this was essentially an ancient copyright. Something like the curses on ancient tombs (e.g. "don't mess with this or you will have bad acne").

Yes, but the books of I & II Gardner are already well under way, and II Gardner 32.1 says "This is the last verse and book." :D

Supposedly there are many more books of the Bible that have not been released to the public, nor ever will.

Why is that?

I believe the Bible should be updated. Fresh viewpoints might actually help the church grow. What is the church so afraid of that they won't allow those other books to be published?

As far as I was aware God couldn't be bothered assembling it, never sent angels to do it, and instructed no-one towards its final composition.

I'm confident then, God wouldn't mind a little addition here or there, maybe something current, some evolutionary development papers?

That was hilarious! I'd give you frubals, but...

You must spread some Karma around before giving it to jewscout again.

It isn't true. There are no hidden books of the Bible :).

Which bible? When I was younger, I could not understand the King James Version. My grandma bought me a book called The Way. In it was a passage that said "obey the government." Now I know that is not what the bible said, and I decided the only way to know what it really said is to read it in the original language. The verse I read as "obey the government" was translated from "obey the higher power". I have found that all the contradictions disappear when you read it's original meaning vs. the interpretations. A lot of what we have today are copies of copies of copies, etc. And just like a xerox, will loose a little something with each duplication.

While you are all discussing if this is possible. I have just recently published what I think is an accurate translation of the Third Testament. Originally written in spanish. It is four books, gospels I guess. I would be happy to email copy for any one who wishes to look over it. It is also available in print. I am only a single mother and don't know why I was chosen to spread this message, but here I am, and the message is free for anyone who wishes to receive it. If you would like to read this email me at [email protected] and I reply with a pdf attachment.

The verse I read as "obey the government" was translated from "obey the higher power". I have found that all the contradictions disappear when you read what it really says, instead of trying to read the translations of one man (King James Version) , who by the way is the same man who started the freemasons? Things that make you go hmmmm.

Many of the contradictions you see are a result of translation, and the Way is more of a paraphrase than anything, and I strongly dislike those.

Now, the KJV has many errors, but King James was only the one who authorized the translation. It was done by several men (in the plural), and so not the work of one man. James didn't start the Freemasons either. Nobody really knows how the organization started from what I can gather.

I would caution you about your sources as a result. They appear to have misinformed you some.
