Is the Coronavirus Man made?

This virus appears to be man made like other outbreaks, (according to studies conducted on it.)
Who can doubt this? Who can trust the Chinese Government to tell the truth?

  • The Wuhan Institute of Virology has been studying coronavirus since at least 2016.
  • A growing body of evidence suggests the Wuhan coronavirus may have leaked from the institute.
  • If true, this would not be the first time a deadly virus has leaked from a Chinese research institute.
2016 documents show that the Wuhan Institute of Virology, an organization increasingly suspected of being linked to the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak, has been studying the virus over the last several years. This comes as a growing body of evidence suggests the disease did not originate in a seafood wet market as the Chinese government claims.

If the unconfirmed reports are true, it would not be the first time a deadly disease has escaped from a Chinese research facility. In March 2004, 9 people became infected with 1 fatality after the deadly SARS virus escaped from the National Institute of Virology in Beijing, China. The current coronavirus outbreak may have a similar origin.

The Infected Could Be Far More than the Government’s Official Numbers
According to reports from the South China Morning Post, Hong Kong’s newspaper of record, the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak may be monumentally more severe than the government is admitting. Academics from the University of Hong Kong (HKU) now estimate that the number of infected in Wuhan has reached 43,590 – a staggering 1456% higher than the official figure which stands at 2800.

A data-driven mathematical model from HKU academics predicts the number of infections of the Wuhan coronavirus could see 150,000 new cases every day in the Chinese megacity of Chongqing alone between late April and early May.

The Chinese government continues to claim that only 2,800 people are infected. But their actions suggest even they don’t believe this figure.

Authorities had allocated a record-breaking $9 billion in funding to combat the coronavirus outbreak. They have also quarantined entire cities with a total population of over 60 million. This is in addition to erecting several brand-new 1,000-bed hospitals from scratch. These don’t look like the actions of a government that believes only 2,800 people are infected.

Wuhan Seafood Market May Not be Origin of the Virus
According to data published in The Lancet medical journal, 13 of the 41 initial cases of Wuhan Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) had no link to the seafood market purported to be the origin of the disease. If you ask Daniel Lucey, an infectious disease specialist at Georgetown University, that number is too big to ignore.

He states the following:

No epidemiological link was found between the first patient and later cases. Their data also show that, in total, 13 of the 41 cases had no link to the marketplace. That’s a big number, 13, with no link.

He goes on to add:

The virus came into that marketplace before it came out of that marketplace. China must have realized the epidemic did not originate in that Wuhan Huanan seafood market

Did the Virus Leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology?
Unconfirmed reports suggest the Wuhan Institute of Virology may be a possible source of the deadly virus outbreak. If the Wuhan coronavirus leaked from the institute, it would not be the first time such a breach has occurred in China.

In 2004, five top officials from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention were punished for a SARS outbreak that occurred due to a leak in their facility. The leak occurred at the Beijing Institute of Virology where researchers were conducting live and inactive SARS coronavirus experiments. Two workers became infected with SARS and later spread the disease to others.

SARS originally emerged in 2002 before spreading to infect 8,000 people around the globe. The virus killed 800 people.

Well, it's always possible, but speculation about its origin doesn't really address the danger of it. If it escaped because of sloppy safety procedures from some lab, yeah, but at the same time, I don't think we can dismiss the power of evolutionary processes and natural development of dangerous virus or bacteria.

I wondered how long it would be until this incident escalated to some sort of man made, intentional or accidental release. I can see the conspiracy theories spread like a virus.

That's a lot of "maybes" and "could be's' and "what if's." With precious little evidence save intestinal distrust.

Not that I trust the Chinese myself, mind you, but BECAUSE I distrust them, ironically enough, I need more evidence, not less.

the problem is that even the most intransigent of risk takers can have accidents that are neither their fault, nor preventable.

Our genomes are full of fossil DNA revealing a history of disease by some viruses of the past. That some new one might come along and naturally find us an acceptable host is more likely.

History seems to show humans tend to get frightened when it comes to mortality and need to blame something whether it's a God, Devil, Demon, or some shadowy government conspiracy. It wasn't that long ago that AIDS was said to be a man made disease, some with a political agenda based on race claimed it was a U.S. conspiracy against black Americans since they were the demographic hit the hardest in the U.S. it's easy to point the finger and come up with all kinds of scapegoats and villains but it seems just a fear based reaction. Maybe the scariest thing for some people to accept is that they have such little control over nature so they create all these fictions to help them deal with it a little easier. I have always thought that this is the main reasons we have so many different visions of what happens after death, the great unknown.

I think the bigger danger long term is increased immunity to antibiotics within existing bugs.

Yup. I heard about the conspiracy theory of the origin some weeks ago and dismissed it. Someone suggested to me that it was man made and spread intentionally because of... wait for it... US dealings in Iran. In other words, Iran planting the virus in China to hurt US... uh... yeah... really far fetched.

Sort of a false flag twist. That is the sort of thing I expect from another government in a conspiracy theory. You cannot trust any of those cast of conspiracy characters. They are always nefarious.

I heard one person claim something about it being man made. Nothing specific, but just a claim.

There was a time not that long ago when Legionaires disease and Lyme disease were unheard of. Here where I live, we have the Heartland virus and several others that are rather recent discoveries. Some like the acid-loving E. coli in beef are the result of how we feed cattle. Disease organisms evolve just like all living things and nearly living things like viruses. It is not a surprise that sometimes something becomes pathogenic or more virulent.

Hanta virus and Valley fever are two others that I believe are relatively recent discoveries of the last 25 or 30 years.

dunno about the Hanta virus, but Valley Fever has been around for a very, very long time. It's so endemic around where I live that around 90% of people who have lived here for more than five years have antibodies to it. When it hits hard, it hits HARD, but most of the time it 'hits' like a medium/moderate cold. And then one is immune.

I know this because I am immunosupressed, what with cancer and all, and one of the things they test you for after a bone marrow transplant (to see what vaccines you need to repeat) is Valley Fever. Yep, I'm now immune...and so is everybody in my family. Most people who get it don't even know they've had it, unless it goes to the 'second stage,' which is pretty rare.

We've known about it for a very, very long time. Yeah, coccidiomycosis....

And it's a fungus, not a virus. Just so you know.

All major events eventually get tied into kooky, convoluted conspiracies. Of course, it's nations, religions, and/or political ideologies other than our own that play the roll of super villain.

What about the Democratic Party? No evidence, but hey, as long as we're laying blame.
As far as i know the deomocratic party they have never killed anyone who have a religious belief, or have killed those who want to tell the truth about a situation, CCP have done that for many years.
uigurer, Tibetans, Falun Gong practitioners, people who are against CCP are killed every day in China. Did Democrats kill Republicans because they felt Republicans or Trump have done something wrong? No they did not.
So yes the thought of CCP is behind it is actually there. But as i said, at this moment i do not have physical evidence for it, but i am working on it.
