Have you ever looked into energy and the law of attraction and near death experiences and reincarnation stories? Often people don't because it's doesn't align with their beleifs and makes them uncomfortable

I've looked into all kinds of things and learned that having an open mind isn't helped by clinging to beliefs and wishful thinking.

I can certainly relate to a feeling of connection with the universe, particularly when looking at the night sky. But IMO projecting that feeling out onto the universe can be misleading.

How are you not connected to the universe? Is there something separating you? Did the matter of your body spontaneously materialize at conception, and continues to simply regenerate itself? Is your psychological self a pattern unto itself, derived from nothing of the environment and protected from the complex causal web that surrounds you? Do you find yourself in a bubble cutting you off completely from the Universe around you?

I'd say more like poetic embellishment.

The only thing separating us from our environment is our discriminating and limited sensory data. Our ability to look beyond and into our limited environment allows us to see a grand, immense functioning universe whose processes create the very stuff we are made up of, and whose laws allow us to perform this complex operation called consciousness.

We can view this as one thing, being separated into many things through our model-making minds.

Back in my inebriated days, lo these many millenia ago, I quite often felt more connected or aware, not with alcohol, but with ahem other substances. It was useful as a tool, but my body could not persist in using said substances.

Yes this is something I'm discovering in my research, although I do think there is forms of existence far more advanced then humanity, in which an entire species has mastered the universal law if attraction, but that is my opinion and I'm always searching for answers
