Since you're Catholic, I suppose that the only perspective that may be of value to you is the Catholic perspective, and I don't know what that is. From my way of thinking, you're not even close to doomed.

Welcome to the forums, BTW.

Don't ask for forgiveness from someone else, carry your own guilt.

If I killed a man how is anyone saying 'I forgive you' going to make any difference to the guilt I may feel?
What's done is done, bear your own cross.
No one can forgive you but yourself, not God or Ghosts...

Besides I speak out against God pretty much every day, I often call Him all kinds of names, like when I read of a little kid being murdered or something, but he knows I am only human, I imagine he finds me amusing...

Sometimes I think the only reason I want to be in heaven is so I get the oppurtunity to question His parentage to His face...

well said ish lol

from my point of view the only person with the right to judge oneself is oneself, i don't feel the need to pray to a god and ask forgivness just so i can get into 'heaven' as i have a strong idea that when we die we are all together anyway regardless of acts carried out in the life just left.

Derek I am Catholic and thought I would comment. God will forgive you. As long as you don't believe the Holy Spirit does works of evil, I beleive you will be forgiven.

If you believe in heaven, and you really feel you belong there, then there is nothing in the world that can stop you! :D

Except sin, but through repentance and confession of your faith in Jesus that He died and rose again and is the only way to the father, you will be granted eternal life.

The bible says even the devil believes in God, belief is one thing ,obedience is quite another.

You should talk with your preist about this...

Greetings, Derek. I agree with Angellous above and others about talking with your Priest. Probably by now you have, and gotten great advice. I, as one who is not Catholic but who loves Catholics, would just like to offer one additional point. This is that 'God is Love.' This statement comes from the Bible and directly from your Pope in one of his first documents as Pope. God is Love, and God loves you, and his love for you is unconditional - no matter what. Your actions cannot cause God to separate from you; he still loves you. Your actions if negative, however, can cause you to separate from God; and the first step to getting 'back in sync' with God is to realize the negative actions and try to overcome them. In this regard, it seems you are well on your way. From what you have said and the fact that you are here on RF, it does not seem that you have committed the kind of 'blasphemy against the Holy Ghost' that permanently separates you from God and that Mathew is talking about. This is only one man's opinion and I am confident that your Priest will have the best guidance for you. Best Wishes -

God is a being of love and forgiveness. Of course he will forgive you. I don't believe that God will send us away to an eternity of suffering if he is all- forgiving, but we must admit we did wrong and try to better ourselves -as you are doing.

I am not Roman Catholic but I am Orthodox Catholic (what westerners usually call Eastern Orthodox) and we have a good deal in common. This I believe, is one of those things and, I assure you, what you describe is not the unforgiveable sin. That is the rejection of the Holy Spirit's work in your life. In effect it is the rejection of God. The fact that you feel remorse and seem to want to repent of whatever it is that you have done proves that you are not guilty of the unforgiveable sin.

As others have said, God is love. He wills that all men might be saved and the only way any sin is unforgiveable is if we make it so. God will not vindictively condemn us but will forgive all who truly repent. Blaspheming the Holy Spirit is only unforgiveable because by rejecting God utterly we also reject His forgiveness and He will always allow us our free will. God will not damn you unless you damn yourself.

I hope that helps but I agree with something else that others said above - you really ought to discuss this with your priest.

I get very scared all the time , many anxiety problems , I worry night and day , can barely sleep. If anyone of the Catholic faith is here I can talk to on Messenger or AIM , I would greatly appreciate it. thank you all for the insight

I am not a catholic but a Christian and can assure you that Jesus is speaking to the father on your behalf Rom 8:34 Who [is] he that condemneth? [It is] Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Jesus is interceding for you now that you would trust and obey and receive him
The fact that your concerned ,worried and fearful of committing the unpardonable sin against the Holy Ghost,is a clear indication that you have not committed it.

Luk 12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.
if you have done this your heart would be hard and calloused, but you appear repentitive and sorrowful for whatever it was you have done and this clearly indicates you have not fallen from grace and here is the good news .You can come to God yourself and repent

1Jo 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Hbr 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need
1Jo 1:7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

1Jo 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Def. To speak of, or address, with impious irreverence; to
revile impiously (anything sacred); as, to blaspheme the
Holy Spirit.

If you have repentance in your heart, then you will be forgiven, just ask and don't do it again. If the Holy Spirit is convicting you then you are ok, that means the Lord has not turned you over to a reprobate heart. You are all good.
