This is a video of Shi'as in Iraq carrying and worshipping an idol of Hussain رضى الله عنه, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم

Making idols, let alone worshipping them, is strictly forbidden in the religion of Islam. Can Shi'as be considered as part of Islam, or are they are heretical cult that is hijacking the name of Muslim? Decide for yourself!

Why do you say they are WORSHIPPING an idol of Hussain? Though the Kaaba is central to worship in Islam and in Mecca itself the prostrations are before the Kaaba, Muslims do not accept they are WORSHIPPING the Kaaba. The injunction in Islam is only against WORSHIPPING idols, not against carrying them around or having it as a marker for the purposes of worship.

Exactly Ven. This thread is just another attempt by a Wahabi to invalidate the Shia

No, the muslims are not worshipping the Kaaba. It's just the direction of the prayers. And no, it's not permissible in any way to carry an idol. The only permissible and obligatory thing is to destroy it.

I think the 'Wahabi" has touched a core issue, creating idols and even drawing pictures is considered shirk among the majority of Muslims, shirk or making partners with Allah is the biggest unforgivable sin in Islam. All Muslims are supposed to conciously guard against shirk whether Sunni or Shia..or Wahabi and Salafi whichever labels you want to throw in..

Exactly the Kaaba is the Qibla, A direction to pray towards..

Firstly for the non-Muslims the Kaaba is not an idol. As Quran has outlined that it doesn't matter the direction you pray, what matters is you obey God. So at one point the qibla, direction of prayer was not Kaaba as recorded in the Quran. Hence proving that we don't worship the Kaaba. Secondly Quran teaches that physical things we worship are dead, they don't hear us, it is useless to pray to them. This is why we don't pray to the Kaaba but pray to God. Kaaba is just a unification of prayer direction as God is one and we all pray in one direction.

Now as to Shia, let's not paint them all with one brush because a certain group does such. I am sure we can find Sunni who engage in Shirk as well, but lets not assume that all Sunni are hence, god forbid....
