So, I'm really trying to grow in wisdom and maturity.

In the process of growing in wisdom and maturity I'm questioning my username and Avatar. It doesn't exactly paint the picture of a very wise mature member of the board.

I'm personally fond of this username and Avatar, but I'm wondering if that could be my immature and inconsiderate side, so I'm really curious to see what the results of this thread will be.

Please answer this question honestly if you're reading this. Do you find my username or Avatar to be rude or offensive?

Should I change it?

It isn't as important to me if you answer this question, but I thought I would ask, what do you think I should change it to?

Also, out of curiosity, do my posts reflect a wise and mature person? I just turned 31. Do I act my age?

I also realized I sort of flooded the forum with threads as of late. My bad! I took a long break from the Forum for a while and came back with a lot to say. Thanks for putting up with me

Wisdom and maturity don't come over night. Freely God could grant it. I'm kinda despairing that he ever will, but I used to get arrested, restrained and injected with antipsychotics, and that hasn't happened for years, so there is much progress and blessings to be grateful for. Anyone who uses the words Pope and dope together is not showing much wisdom or maturity. It sounds like making fun of or otherwise putting down a respected religious leader. That may not be your intent but it gives that feeling.

I was always a bit mystified, as I thought you were Catholic, so I couldn't work out that or who the pic was (guessed it was some former Pope or Cardinal). I always figure that Avatars have some kind of meaning somehow...

Don't find it offensive though. It's your RF "you" in the mean time. Wouldn't be the same if you re-emerged as Bob, Chuck, Jack or something "normal".

I don't find the username or avatar to be immature, rude or offensive. But I'm used to seeing it, so it's been kind of a fixture here since I joined (though I think you've changed the image of the Pope once or twice since I joined).

But if you're questioning it yourself, perhaps it's time for a change. Your own feelings about your personal self-image and how you represent it outweigh what others think about it (unless it's somehow in violation of forum policy). Do what you think is right.
