Is Trump having a mental breakdown?

Are Trump's recent mistakes due to some kind of a mental breakdown?

Some in the White House say that he can be heard screaming at the t.v. at times, plus they're noticing that his behavior has changed since taking office. He can't even keep his own stories straight, can't stop tweeting, etc.

I'm not saying this to dump hot coals on his head, just that I do believe he is mentally ill and is going downhill-- which is truly scary.

How is this different from last summer when he kept claiming that he could make Mexico pay for the Wall?
Or that he would release his tax returns?
Or got into a Twitter battle with the family of a soldier who died defending the USA in Iraq?
Or
Or
Or
?
It doesn't look much different from the Trump administration I was expecting if he took office.

From the reports I've been picking up on the news, his intensity seems to have grown, and it doesn't seem that Ivanka can control him.

Before he was elected, I posted on several threads that I believe he likely suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder based on his behavior (my son suffers from Bipolar Disorder, btw), and from what I've heard, his intensity is getting worse.

BTW, I remember and somewhat agreed with Michael Moore's prediction just before Trump took office that, as bad as many think it was going to be, it's going to be worse. Was Moore right.

I am very much like @Revoltingest. I expect people to fail and lie and underperform.
I didn't expect much out of Obama either. He didn't have what it takes to outplay the power elite who really run this country.

But the current situation is not noticeably different from what I expected from a super rich playboy, with impulse control problems, no experience in politics, and compromising Russian connections.

All of this was made very clear before the election.
All of it. Trump is exactly as billed.

As one example of lying for political reasons

Has the past week finally gotten to Trump in a way that is affecting his mental capacity? Is his frustration with bad press causing him to act out/erratically against his own interest? Are the recent slip-ups (political no-no's) a product of his frustration with the blowback from firing Comey?

Evidence:
1. Threatening Tweet to Comey about "tapes" of their conversations in the Oval Office
2. Contradicts statements made by his surrogates the day before during Lester Holt interview
3. Sources inside the White House saying that he is isolated and very angry about press coverage
4. Admitted that he asked Comey directly whether he was under investigation (objectively dumb)
5. Admitting that his decision was partly based on frustration with the Russian investigation which, in his (claimed) opinion is a hoax
6. Threatening to cancel all press briefings to the public
7. All the rest ... and what is to come this week.

I think he is starting to suffer from dementia. He reminds me of my grandmother who went through it. Saying things she never would have said formerly (whether she believed them or not is unclear), acting paranoid, fits of anger... It makes sense.

I agree. His comments today were really something, claiming that no one has been treated worse than him. Boo hoo ... I mean, does he really not remember the awful lies, untrue allegations, personal insults and the "war on the media" that he, himself, started? Now, he is complaining about not being treated well?! What goes around comes around ... especially in politics. Not sure why he expects special treatment.

I also think he is feeling miserable doing the job. It is not what he thought it was. We should really get a lottery going for how many days Trump stays in office. I don't believe it is going to be 4 years.

After you believed that Trump had no chance to win, I don't have any faith in your beliefs.

I don't believe I ever said Trump has no chance to win. I voted for Gary Johnson because I disliked both candidates. I never thought Gary Johnson would win, I just wanted him to win one state.

He's already said that as President, he can do anything he wants. Pretty much the same as he said on the campaign trail, that he could murder someone or rape someone and he would get away with it.
The crazy thing is, when it comes to his supporters, he was pretty right on target. With all of the crap happening lately, many on this forum just point to the "fake news", thinking Trump can do no wrong. I've even heard that he represents us (vs. representing them). Not sure what that means, but it is facially ludicrous considering his past business practices and claims.
