Trump lied at the rally yesterday saying there were no us troops in Syria.

I just watch his speech and he said there's still 50 US People over there and he intends to bring them back.
Isn't it so hard to just report the facts as they are?
Why making up stuff?

Trump lied.. there are 1000 soldiers still there. I have no idea why Trump lies.

It's his dark nature to lie, cheat, steal, act on lust, greed and anger. We're all better off assuming anything he or one of his official minions say is an utter lie unless and until proven otherwise.

I'm refusing your bet, because you're being too overly optimistic about the role of our American military transitioning from being the world's policeman to becoming a national defense force.

I think you're being overly optimistic in thinking the American military is the world's policeman.
The American Military have always served American interests, with the politicians determining where those interests lie.

To be clear, this isn't meant as a dig at the American military at all.

I just find the 'World Police' trope pretty trite.

You can't expect Trump to give a wise decision.

Christian Leaders Say Turkish Invasion Of Syria Raises Risk Of 'Genocide'

Christian Leaders Say Turkish Invasion Of Syria Raises Risk Of 'Genocide'

3 days ago · About 40,000 or 50,000 Christians live in the area under attack, according to Ishak, president of the Syriac National Council of Syria, and U.S. Christian leaders have been almost unanimous in...

Excerpt:

The airstrikes and artillery bombardments had barely begun in the Syrian city of Qamishli, just across the border from Turkey, when Bassam Ishak's cellphone began ringing.

"People were so scared," Ishak said. "They were telling me, 'They are bombing us right now!' "

Ishak, a Syriac Christian leader, was in Irbil, Iraq, monitoring developments along the Syria-Turkey border.

Turkey Launches Offensive Against Kurds In Northern Syria

"The attacks are widespread," Ishak told NPR by phone. "They are targeting residential areas in Qamishli, where people of all religious backgrounds live. We think this is a message to the Kurds and Christians there to leave, so Turkey can move refugees there. We think it's a form of ethnic cleansing."

So, his campaign promise is more important to you than hundreds, and maybe thousands of people getting slaughtered? With "friends" like that, who needs enemies. Would you desert your friends in an hour of their need as well and allow them to be slaughtered as well?

We made a promise to the Kurds if they'd help us, and they did. So now their lives are essentially meaningless, right? They are heavily out-manned and out-weaponed by the Turks, so they really are at their mercy unless something is done to stop the latter.
Alliances change all the time on the world stage. There's no such thing as 'friends or enemies' as far as foreign relations go.

Personally I think the UN should be sending in peacekeepers. It's what's they are for, at least I thought so.

Anyways people have been hammering and howling about getting the US out of Foreign Affairs all together , especially the Middle East.

Anyways the troops have been said to be not leaving the country entirely. Just making way for the Turkish advance.

U.S. troops to withdraw farther in Syria as hundreds of ISIS supporters escape

UN Peackeepers are just tripwires. Someone else will have to fight if the wire gets tripped.

Absolutely he did as the Kurds were the spearhead of the spear, and they lost thousands of their lives doing so. What does this tell our other allies, right. And then for some to say that this is somehow acceptable from some sort of supposed Christian perspective is appalling. And we also know that Trump made this decision without consulting the Pentagon or even the State Department, and he also publicly admitted he did this to fulfill his campaign promise. And the he lied on Friday when he said at a campaign rally that all American troops were out of Syria.

So, who has he make happy with this decision? Iran, ISIS, Turkish militias and, oh yes, Russia! But then what should we expect from a president who's basically become "Putin's Puppet".

Assad couldn't organize a trip to the john..

You think Kurds and Turks should fight while Assad sits on his *** waiting for someone to give him money to rebuild Syria? Nothing has changed. Assad is still a butcher.

I said no such thing.

It was a question.. Notice punctuation.

What was? (notice the question mark). You made a loaded point then attached a ? to it. That does not make it a question. "Do you think" vs "You think". Your point was the latter not the former.
