Atheism is not a world view. Is not believing in Santa Clause or the Easter bunny a world view? But I would argue that in general, atheists will hold a world view.

Everyone holds a world view. It's part of being human.

Atheism is not an active force that prevents people from realizing the truth of the existence of God. Typically it is instead just a serene realization that there is in fact no reason to worry about deities.

It's a response. Many atheists are tired of how many theists tend to treat us. I'm thankful for the theists who don't treat me poorly and I'm happy to live with those ones peacefully. I don't even need to argue with them, nor do I want to.

Being old has its advantages. Remembering Johnny Hart is one of them. And my avatar is a self portrait as well. About a quarter of the way down, a smidge left of center, you need to look real hard. And as you can see, unlike you, I have a full head of hair. Though not a curl in it. Straight and flat. It could be used as a straight edge. A blessing and a curse. Curly haired guys seem to go bald much more than us with plain jane hair.

EDIT: I won't deny the "cuter" claim. Distance does have its advantages in a portrait.

Theists tend to say otherwise. They say that their beliefs heavily influence how they see the world, how they view others, and how they treat others.

Religion doesn't equal theism or the other way around.

They are used interchangeably in everyday speech, so I really don't see a problem. Most theists here belong to one of the big 3 world religions.
