Israel & Manifest Destiny Is The Best Analogy

There are some parallels between Israel's actions &
Nazi Germany, but the degrees of wrongness aren't
comparable.
The better analogy is Israel's actions & Manifest Destiny
in USA's history. Indians were the inhabitants of the
desired land. They weren't exterminated, but were killed
in great numbers, either stochastically killed by settlers,
or in mass killings by government forces. Survivors were
confined geographically, & allowed only poor resources.

Manifest destiny was a phrase in the 19th-century United States that represented the belief that American settlers were destined to expand westward across North America, and that this belief was both obvious ("manifest") and certain ("destiny")....
According to historian William Earl Weeks, there were three basic tenets behind the concept:[3]

:
Indian removal policies led to the current day reservation system which allocated territories to individual tribes. According to scholar Dina Gilio-Whitaker, "the treaties also created reservations that would confine Native people into smaller territories far smaller than they had for millenia been accustomed to, diminishing their ability to feed themselves

Manifest destiny
These two words lead to association with two other words in my brain: entitlement and delusion.
Entitlement to something they don't have any justified reason for any claim, and the delusion that that justification comes from an unevidenced entity.
I'm not sure the claim to entitlement would go away if we remove the justification (they'll find another one if it was never genuine in the first place), but the next excuse might not have so much emotional baggage and therefore less power.

Rev, dont compare Israel to ww2 germany. That's a bit too much.

Just today, the funding package from US was denied.

Here out West, israel is being watched and even defunded.

There will be no removal of palestinians from all of palestine. But yes the idea of JSIL taking over all of the property from the sea to the river is about dead.

removal policies

Even one of the most militant zionists did not advocate manifest destiny. The Arabs were not to be removed. The goal was to create a better life for themselves AND for those who were attacking them.

Comparison of motivations is there. But the
point of this thread is too set that comparison
aside in favor of a more similar one.

The appearance of setbacks for Israel doesn't
change what it's been doing & why, nor the
parallel with Manifest Destiny.

Similar? They do not intend to destroy the people. They require the mount. And the resistance, the al aqsa flood and 'red line; is that location.

at least the observation of the terrorism is being recognized.

The parallels with Manifest Destiny include.....
- Religious & cultural beliefs of entitlement to Indian lands.
- Religious beliefs of superiority.
- Massive kill-offs of Indians, but not to exterminate.
- Small skirmishes to kill & steal from both sides.
- Confinement & oppression of Indians.

This is what Israel is doing right now: Re-establishing and protecting Gaza's water infrastructure so that they can be self-sufficient.

Israeli Cogat Water Infrastructure Report: Feb 8th 2024

  1. 90% of the drinking water in Gaza is self-sourced. Only 10% of the water comes from Israel.
  2. Israel opened two water pipes from Israel — Birkat Sa'id and Bani Suheila — and they are providing water to hundreds of thousands of residents in the southern Gaza Strip. Lines provide 28.5m liters/day.
  3. Israel repaired these water pipes after Hamas destroyed them more than once.
  4. Israel coordinated the repair of vital infrastructure such as:
  5. Refueling and repairing pumps at water wells by UNRWA
  6. Repair of the Bani Suheila water main line providing water to the residents in the central Gaza Strip
  7. We coordinated repair work for three pumps at the UNICEF desalination plant in Deir-Albalah was executed. This repair has reinstated the plant's capacity to process 1,000 cubic meters per day, providing approximately 50,000 residents in the region.
  8. On Dec. 18, the first stage of implementing a water pipeline from mobile desalination facilities situated on the Egyptian side of Rafah was successfully concluded. This initiative, led by the United Arab Emirates, aims to provide clean water access to approx. 150,000 people.
  9. On Dec. 27, the second water pipeline from mobile desalination facilities situated on the Egyptian side of Rafah was successfully established.

It's not practical to respond to a plethora of
details to paint a picture of Israeli beneficence,
while ignoring the larger reality of Israeli deadly
brutality, & theft of land.
