Israeli soccer fans attacked in Amsterdam for being Jewish

'We were ambushed': Pogrom in Amsterdam wounds several

Following violent attacks against Maccabi Tel Aviv fans following a soccer match between Maccabi and Ajax on Thursday evening, Israel's Foreign Ministry confirmed that all Israelis had been contacted, according to Ynet. While police initially said they were investigating reports of abductions during the attacks, all missing Israelis have now been accounted for. Local authorities and Israel's Foreign Ministry have reported that ten Israelis have been injured so far in the pogrom, with consul members currently searching hospitals.

Fans of Maccabi Tel Aviv report being attacked in the streets of Amsterdam after the Israeli soccer team’s loss to local club Ajax, with video from the Dutch city showing brutal assaults by masked assailants, some of whom carry Palestinian flags and shout “free Palestine.”

The reports from Amsterdam are harrowing. After Maccabi Tel Aviv, an Israeli soccer team, lost to Ajax, a group of their fans—mostly Jewish supporters—were brutally attacked by masked assailants. If anyone needed proof that "Free Palestine" is just another coded anti-semitic dog whistle which is basically the equivalent of "We want a 2nd Holocaust" here it is.

Many of the attackers were carrying Palestinian flags and chanting “Free Palestine.” Video footage from the scene shows these assailants physically assaulting individuals, some of whom were reportedly women and children, simply because of their perceived association with Israel.

This is not an isolated incident. Across Europe, similar attacks have been reported in the wake of sporting events, particularly those involving Israeli teams. While some of these attacks have been framed as “protests” against Israel’s policies, they increasingly reveal a darker, more sinister trend—an expression of anti-Semitic violence.

Have you noticed it's never the Israelis starting the attacks, it's always the Palestinian supporters who are doing the attacking all the time?

This. The pro-p*lestinian terrorist's knew that an israeli team was coming to town and pre-planned this to attack as many innocent Jewish people as possible.

I hope anyone who laid a finger on a Jewish person will be going to jail for a very very long time.

Bunch of nonsense. A bunch of known racist football hooligans who were caught on video chanting racist slogans like "Death to Arabs" and other genocidal slogans and assaulting and harassing locals and Palestine supporters, got beaten up and now the corporate media and politicians are just lying about it.

They also disrespected a moment of silence for Spanish flood victims (on purpose, as Spain opposes the Gaza genocide):

People need to learn to distinguish. (But that seems too much of an intellectual effort for those hooligans.)
There are Jews, people who adhere to the Mosaic faith.
There are Semites, an ethnicity local to the Levant.
There are Israelis, people who live in Israel.

And then there is the Israeli government. Only this one is responsible for the wars. (And, collectively, the Israeli people, who voted for that government, but you can't blame a single Israeli for the government, if they didn't vote for it.)

That's too much nuance for many, even sometimes for people who should know better. And some players like to hide behind the false labels. The Israeli government calls protests against them "anti-Semitic", and the papers pick it up. As a consequence, real anti-Semitism is on the rise as now anti-Zionism is officially synonymous with anti-Semitism.

It goes worse and worse.
I was born in 1985.
I have never seen such a violence throughout Europe.
I am very proud of our EU, because this EU has done anything to promote peace and reject conflicts and wars.
For decades.

But now it seems that instead of going forward, we go backwards with the escalation of such horrific events that show that minorities can't be safe in certain countries.

Middle East Eye is a known anti-semitic and biased hate site. Why are you quoting them?

I happen to live in the Netherlands, and I saw nothing "racist" from the Israelis as a group. Maybe there were a few people that got out of hand as in any football match. During the World Cup there were people that partied too hard including Dutch people. Would that justify committing a genocide against every Dutch person?

True

Religious Supremacy: root cause of most of the violence

KEY = Freedom of Religion should not include "Freedom to Discrimination other Religions", e.g. proselytizing "my Religion is Superior", which implies "your Religion is inferior" = Religious Supremacy

We kind of banned Discrimination
We kind of banned White Supremacy
We need to ban Religious Supremacy

Otherwise Peace is NEVER going to happen

It seems it was a reprisal for this:

A separate video geolocated by NBC News showed Israeli fans taunting pro-Palestinian protesters either before or after Thursday's match by singing “Death to the Arabs” and “Let the IDF win. We will **** the Arabs,” as well as tearing down a Palestinian flag.

... so what happened wasn't unprovoked (while still not being okay).

Didn't you say a few weeks ago you were in China?

Either you were bluffing then, or you're bluffing now.

You're a Jewish supremacist who calls anything critical of Israel "anti-semitic", so I don't really care about your opinion on my sources. I'm not posting it for you, anyway. I certainly don't care about your made up anecdotes. You were claiming to live in China a few weeks ago. Give me a break. I posted video evidence of their disgusting behavior. Some innocent people probably get caught up in this and that's unfortunate, but that Israeli football ultra certainly wasn't innocent. They're known for their racism and support of far-right poliitics. They went out of their way to **** people off and now want to cry because it didn't turn out well for them in some cases. Too bad! They were beating Dutch people up, too. "Genocide"? This is why you can't be taken seriously. Lol.

They even made a movie about it...where a soccer fan is stabbed to death by another soccer fan of the same team...
It's true...soccer drives people insane...
But this time maybe politics and ideology were involved.
It usually is, if only indirectly. My point was that just because you've not seen this kind of violence doesn't mean it never happens. In fact, things that happen quite a lot tend not to be reported in the news (because it's not new).

Yeah, even American sports fans don't have a thing on European football (or soccer) fans. Y'all are bonkers over it, forming gangs around it and beating people to a pulp just for liking a different team. Definitely more than that going on here, however, as you said.

I generally find Reuters to be a reasonably objective news source. Noting this inclination, I found the following useful:

Particularly:

Here is a closer look at how the situation escalated.
Tension began to build on Wednesday as some of the 3,000 visiting Maccabi supporters had minor altercations back and forth with locals including taxi drivers and Ajax supporters in the city centre, police said.
A police report said groups of Maccabi supporters burned a Palestinian flag on Dam square, pulled another down from a nearby building and vandalised a taxi.
After a call went out on social media, angry Muslim taxi drivers gathered outside a casino where a group of 400 Maccabi supporters were gathered, and police intervened amid skirmishes.

Dutch media have reported on videos purportedly showing the beating of a Muslim taxi driver and a group of youths yelling anti-Semitic slurs at a person in a canal said to be a Maccabi supporter who was pushed in.
Reuters was unable to confirm those incidents took place as portrayed.

Spiraling bigotry-inspired violence is vile, as is feeding it.

You should be honest and tell the whole story. The day before the match palastinian flag were ripped off of buildings, a taxidriver was assaulted because he pointed out to them that they shouldn’t do it, walking through the streets which chants like ‘kill all Arabs ‘ or there is no school left in Gaza, or not even having the decency to be quiet during a minute of silence for the people in Spain with the disaster they are facing now during the match.

Here is a independent journalist showing the Israeli hooligans are seeking problems, while being protected by the police.

Here is thé zionist propaganda working at its best.

A post from a X account made a statemen that the news media and social media is using her images footage but claiming the person being attacked is a Israeli which it’s the other way around.
