Israeli soccer fans attacked in Amsterdam for being Jewish

The chants I quoted in my previous post went far beyond "mean things"; they were blatantly racist and supportive of mass murder, including of Palestinian children.

Both the antisemitic violence and the racist chanting were abhorrent, and I see zero need to minimize or downplay either in order to condemn the other.
Bit of a difference to say things than to hunt people through the streets don't you think?
And well similar behaviour happened on the same day one country over.
Funnily enough those weren't Maccabi Tel-Aviv fans saying mean things and just Jewish and non-Jewish underage Makkabi Berlin players.
Perhaps there's a slightly bigger issue than what happened in Amsterdam.
But hey what do I know.
It's not as if this behaviour has been rampant for years.

But perhaps the gracious minds of RF can figure out why matches that include Jewish youth teams need to be guarded by the police and matches that include Arab and Turkish youth teams do not along with the endless list of Synagogues and Jewish schools and Kindergartens that resemble fortresses while anyone can leave and enter Mosques at will.

Probably the Jews fault.

Yeah. I'm saying that violence and racism both need to be called out and opposed. It's not a competition or a zero-sum game where rejecting one takes away from rejecting the other.

See above. Antisemitism exists and needs to be condemned. This doesn't take away from the fact that anti-Arab racism and anti-Muslim hatred also exist, and vice versa.

No one will condemn you for excessive graciousness.

Yes, there has been a despicable rise of antisemitic incidents.
Yes, [most] anyone can leave and enter Mosques at will unless, of course, it's in Gaza, and there's virtually nowhere one can leave and enter at will in the West Bank. Your point?

Probably the Jews fault.

Perhaps you should whine less and stop implicitly condoning the vile bigotry expressed by some of those Israelis.

  1. Of course I knew; please see post #19.
  2. Identifying islamophobic slurs as antisemitic is, in my opinion, an etymological fallacy.
I know you almost fair enough, and peaceful.

I believe if leaders of Israel same as you, situation would be different in Gaza and West Bank.
But unfortunately Israel leaded by racist regime, had wipe ethnic agenda.

Come across this post on X about the ‘innocent’ Tel Aviv supporters in Greece last month. They attacked 2 people who where showing a Palestinian flag.

x.com.

They are just a bunch of violent hooligans who are being protected because they are Israeli. It’s like they have some kind of immunity when they arrive in the west. They should be treated like any other hooligans who misbehave and that is with a riot police and if that doesn’t help, a cozy jailcell.

It's worth noting that football casuals like to fight with the opposition fans. Dutch football hooligans attacked the English fans in Germany at the Euros in the summer, for example.

There will be people among those looking for fights who are antisemitic. It is not likely that they particularly care for Muslims generally or Palestinians in particular. They just want to fight. They attacked the Celtic fans a few years back in Amsterdam and in Glasgow, and while many of them probably hate catholics, it wasn't that particular bigotry that had them out looking for a scrap. It's what they do.

Don't care, bring it up with Egypt and their "wall".

They can have them if they love them so much.
Will never happen obviously because they would destabilise Egypt likely leading to the MB taking power.

I don't need to do anything, the locals in the Netherlands are doing it for me.

They vandalised Amsterdam yesterday again.
Really got some anger issues those fellas.

Well this time the police hit them.
Let's see if they learn. (they won't)

Fascinating, though really unrelated as the chat logs have been released and it was all planned before the Israelis were even in the country by people who aren't Ajax fans.

They literally called it a "Jew hunt".

But hey I bet there's a really good explanation for it that negates their reasoning for everyone's convenience.

If that's the case then it is absolutely a case of antisemitic violence and everyone involved should be charged as is appropriate by the Amsterdam police force.

I completely agree. I also agree with Gideon Levy who notes:

An ugly, criminal pogrom against Israeli soccer fans took place in Amsterdam on Thursday. Similar pogroms, carried out by settlers, take place almost daily in the West Bank. The pogroms in Hawara, for example, surpassed in their scope and violence even Holocaust II in Amsterdam. The day after the pogrom in the Netherlands, violent settlers rampaged in Surif; two days before it, they rampaged in Al-Maniya.
While Israelis were being beaten in Amsterdam, in the Gaza Strip dozens of people were killed indiscriminately, including many children, as they are every day. The daily pogroms in the West Bank and of course the war in Gaza were not compared to the Holocaust; the chair of Yad Vashem was not interviewed about them; no rescue force was dispatched to save their victims; Israel's foreign minister and Knesset speaker did not view them as a chance for a photo op. These pogroms happen every day and no one bothers to report most of them to you.
Israel set another record Thursday for the self-victimization it so very much enjoys, and the media set another record for the incitement, exaggeration, fearmongering and, above all, the concealment of information that doesn't fit the narrative, that its consumers enjoy. Amsterdam provided an unmissable opportunity: Once again, Jews are beaten in Europe. [source]

So, we can expect another settler rampage soon -- it is, after all, just another bit of Israeli sport in Netanyahu-Smotrich-BenGvir land -- but perhaps next time we'll hear you tell us:

Well this time the police hit them.
Let's see if they learn. (they won't)

... (you won't)
