I've Been Judged More By The Music I Listen To Than Anything Else...

One day I was listening to "People Are Strange" by the Doors. My roommate left in a huff and I found out she said "My roommate is listening to that weird music again". She hated my music. :D

Lol - yeah, I suppose there are "kinds" of death metal.

No, there are. In Flames is not the same subgenre as Cannibal Corpse and neither are the same subgenre as Decapitated but all are still death metal.

One of my coworkers is apparently "one of the top, if not THE top, technical death metal drummers in North America", according to my boss, an allegation backed by the sheer number of beats per second he can pump out. Which is a lot.

Is he in a band?

Sometimes, when I am lost in thought, some pretty unusual things will come into my head. I normally don't share them. But today, I thought I would. Today I was thinking about how, in the past, people would judge me most by the music I listened to.

If I said I liked the Bee Gees, people would say "How on earth can you listen to disco? (The Bee Gees are not actually a disco group, although they did have a couple of hits that were considered disco). If I told someone I liked John Denver, they might say "How can you stand listening to that "white boy music"? If I said I liked listening to oldies, someone might say "How can you possibly like that old music, it sucks!". People made fun of me for whatever music I listen to.

It's kind of strange, if you ask me. :)

I'd wonder what their taste in music would be.

Also that's really odd - I don't know any hierarchy in music; well, metal is the top of the food chain :D

If you listen to the music I listen to, you'll think I'm crazy. Generally, it is very quiet and calm music, the kind that makes you hate your life, but the sources... If I like a music from a video game, I rip it and add it to the collection.

The thing is, people do say I'm a very quiet and calm person, and that fits the description of my music. Interesting.
