I'm type O positive myself and I've been going without meat for about ten years now :)

I'm type O as well and been vegetarian all my life. But I know that lots of protien and B12 make me feel better. My mother is type A and she feels much better as a vegetarian, as is suggested for a blood A diet. I'm not an expert though about htis blood diet ideas and do not know how accurate they are.

B12 and particularly protein can easily be found outside meat, you know. Of course, I _am_ lacto-egg as opposed to strict vegan, and I just love soy protein...

Me too!! And yes I know you can get protien and B12 in a vege diet, which is why we are both alive (thank goodness!).

Congrats, I think it's the best choice if you live in a society where vegetables are not hard to come by.

Don't forget to include nuts, legumes, and other foods filled with proteins you need.

I don't know why protein even comes up in these discussions. Protein's never a problem. Elephant's are vegans, for heaven's sake, and something doesn't grow that big on a protein-poor diet. Calorie for calorie, there's more protein in broccoli than in steak.
B-12's another kettle of fish... er, horse of a different...er... -- a whole different thing! It can be hard to come by in a vegan diet. However, just ancedotally mind you, I've been vegan for maybe 20 years, and lacto veggie for almost 20 years before that. I figured I'd be a prime target for low B-12. So, as an experiment, I injected myself with 1,000 mcg -- nothing. No change in feeling, mood, energy level or anything, so I suspect I wasn't deficient to begin with.

I get my B12 from a vegemite sandwich :D

Yuck that stuff looks gross.

I've never tried to though, isn't it suppose to be like peanut butter?

Lol!!

All this is so subjective.

A lot of people assume it is chocolate spread at frist so it can't look too bad. It's when you realise it isn't sweet but salty that it suddenly looks bad.

It tastes nothing like peanut butter. But it's a savoury spread like peanut butter. It's salty, very salty. It tastes delicious on warm toast, with lots of butter and a thin spread of vegemite (or promite or marmite). Of course, this is if you like salty things. It's an aquired taste, mostly because it's just so foreign to most people. It think it's psychological. I've also found that after people migrate here they start loving the stuff. It's hard to hate something so good :D
