I've Sacrificed my belief in Evolution for Religion

Why? Because I won't let you get away with rude arrogant ignorance?

You have no education in the sciences, you rely on dishonest people, and when called out on that instead of apologizing and correcting your behavior you have a hissy fit.

I've had several brief discussions with you. You seem like a nice enough person, fairly intelligent . . . but what you don't seem to be able to grasp is that all you are doing is saying, in a very subtle way, that I'm ignorant if I don't believe in evolution. If I no longer wish to be ignorant all I have to do is say I believe in evolution.

That doesn't cut it with me, and so I express my frustration. I asked you to teach me evolution not convince me how ignorant I am to it based simply upon your insistence that I believe in it.

We can continue to have discussions on other subjects, though I think that to you it all boils down to the simple evaluation you have demonstrated so far. Christian dumb evolution smart.

You know that is not true. Let's try to stick to the facts here. You may realize that you are wrong and that defending a false belief is making you look bad.

You were supposed to ask proper questions. You never did that. I was more than polite and you suddenly became rude for no apparent reason.

Give me an example of a proper question, a term you've repeated.

Just me adding my thoughts on the subject: What he's actually saying is that you're misrepresenting evolution. Stop misrepresenting evolution. He said nothing about belief.

I asked him to teach me evolution. He agreed. How can I be misrepresenting evolution, by asking questions?

We are all ignorant in certain areas. You are ignorant in the sciences. That is not an insult, merely an observation. Ignorance is easily fixed with education.

It would be an insult to say that you can't learn and I never said nor implied that.

I don't believe those two things are related.

Then you'd be wrong. It's basic philosophy. "You and others." You wouldn't be able to recognize what "others" even means without first understanding how YOU are distinct from everything else. You make this distinction automatically, to such levels that you'd think it's not there at all.

First you must always understand what you need and want before you can even begin to understand what others might need and want. Much like you must have awareness of self in order to have awareness of others.

The way i see it, only a person who doesn't know him / herself would say that those two things are not related.

It isn't philosophy but psychology.

Okay, feel free to argue it like it was. Let's see what's going to change.

Hint: Nothing.

FYI: ALL religions and philosophies essentially have that same rule. It's basic psychology like you said. For you to be human, you must understand humans.

Philosophy does not have rules.
