Recently, a Jain, Bhavesh Bhandari, and his wife accepted the tough Jain monkship together donating a considerable amount of money (approximately USD 24 million). They would not be together, and will move constantly apart from one another.
Jains consider it a very pious and happy occasion. Before accepting the monkship, they are dressed as bride and groom. Jains are generally well educated and properous. There is no return from monkship in Jainism.
Jamnagar residents Viral, his father Kaushik and grandfather Ajit Shah take diksha together.
Varadichand Ji (75), son Ashok Kumar Jain (47), daughter-in-law Bhavana Ashok Jain (45), grandchildren Pakshal Jain (17), Jinak Kumar Jain (15) and Lakhakumar Jain (23) took deeksha, the first step of their initiation into monkhood, as per Jainism. They gave their money to relatives.
