"Jedi Knight" kicked Out of Public Office Building Crying Religious Intolerance

I dunno man, this dood in Southend UK was in a job center wearing his "traditional garb" as a member of the International Church of Jediism, and they kicked him out because his clothing didn't meet safety regulations. Now he's filing a complaint, stating that other religious sects are permitted to wear what they like, so he should be permitted to as well. While I agree with his principle, he crosses the line when he expects people to make exceptions in safety rules IMO.

And lastly, seriously, Jediism? Apparently it was officially recognized (I'm not sure by whom) in 2001. Do we have a thread category for the International Church of Jediism? I'd like to see him use the force to float rocks before I "recognize" him as a Jedi.

I've not read the whole thing but personally I reckon it was a erm....... "protest" at how silly we are at trying to please religious sentiments. He's right, every other religion are allowed to bypass safety laws (Niqab for obvious example), so I guess he's actually trying to highlight the issue there.

OR...... he's a loon.

I think I've seen this guy on a talk show before. They believe that the Dark Side can attack through the back of the head, or something like that, so need to wear a hood to block it.

A simple midichlorian count would indicate whether he's actually a Jedi or not. Anyone can walk around in wool robes carrying a flashlight - I say we test to him to see if he's telling the truth.

Yes, but I think he should be on the hook for the cost of the test, so he's going to have to decide which comic books to sell and go downstairs and ask his mom if she'll lend him the rest.

He already failed the test: :D

the next time you're confronted by security operatives, just dismiss them with a wave of the hand and a "this is not the hoodie you're looking for" and go about your job hunting in peace.

That looks like earth in the background. Shouldn't he be on a mission somewhere else in a galaxy far far away defending somebody or speaking with a council about peaceful trade agreements? I think this guy might be a phoney.

It would be interesting to know if there is a "Dark Order of the Sith". I bet there is, with members names beginning with Darth. I would join it just for ***** and giggles. I think I would go under the title "Darth Nefarius".

From the Dark Side.

Bah. If these fools knew anything, they'd know there can only be Two. The Master and the Apprentice. When one is ready to assume the title of Dark Lord of the Sith(Darth, in short) it can only be done by killing said Master. Normally its their apprentice who does so..

Fools? If anyone knew anything the know that there is only 'One' Sith:One Sith - Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki

Yes seriously. Despite the fact that they use a fictional tern for what they believe the Philosophy behind it is based and real world religions(those that looked into it or are big Star Wars nerd would know this).
It blends Pantheism, Taoism, Buddhism, and Bushido.
The 'Force' doesn't really have to have anything to do with it.
Oh and, did this thread just turn into a need to make fun of someone because you all feel what he believes silly? He's rant is quite off base and not need I agree, and any 'True Jedi' would not whine about such an issue and follow the rule. He give a bad name to the Code.

True. Jedi philosophy is inspired by these and others. We are simply using popular culture to help rally good people. Many of use still claim our traditional religions also, which explains why I say that Jesus had the ultimate midichlorian count. ;)

Hmmm..

Nietzsche said "God is dead"...

Jesus was supposed to be the son of God...

"You killed my father!"

*swoosh, swing, Darth Nietzsche cleaves off Jesus' hand and he's holding onto the railing on the skywalk they were fighting on*

"No Jesus...I am your Father.."

I think its just the name that gives it the silly stigma. The tenets are that there is a force that binds everything together that guides our lives, basically. Just like the movies. I looked on a website regarding it and they basically said that many people have had this belief for a while now but when the movies came out they had a word to put on it.

To each his own I suppose. If other religions can do stuff, so can a Jedi.
