Jerusalem, the world's capital

FearGod

From war to peace, this city can unite us all.

Jerusalem should be the capital of the world, the capital of peace, it should be managed
by the UN and special forces should be installed for observing peace and security.

Jews, Christians , Muslims and even Atheists can live in peace in this land, this small
city can make us humans than animals.

This is a city which holds great relevance to people of the Abrahamic faiths. Or at least to some of them.

It holds less relevance to those of other cultural and religious backgrounds. But yeah, I think the UN should run it, and it should be at peace.

I agree with Kirran. For Abrahamic faiths it is a city of foundation. For other religions, such as Hinduism, it doesn't hold as much spiritual relevance.

I concur; the UN should run it as neither Palestinians or Israelis have shown they can be trusted with it. Better yet, why not evacuate everybody and drop an appropriately-sized nuke on the city? Jerusalem, and how people react to it, have caused the region nothing but problems for centuries.

The UN? I already see the Muslim "peacekeeping" soldiers next to the Kotel. Yeah how about no.

For Abrahamic faiths it is a city of foundation.

Except of course that Mecca and Medina are a thing. Mohammed never set a single foot into the city.

In the words of Mordechai Gur: Har HaBayit BeYadeinu, The Temple Mount is in our hands.

You have no possible idea what this means to Jews.

Sorry but there are many more people than just Jews with claims to Jerusalem, Jews don't get to make all the decisions for Palestine forever, they have a really bad track record of reacting peacefully to the other people that have made Jerusalem their home for centuries.

I mean that Christians and Muslims have tried to claim Jerusalem (the crusade). I'm not saying that its the only spiritual relevant thing. And If you are so kind, could you tell me what that means to jews? :p

What? Me worry?

At the risk of stating the obvious, the Jews were there long before anyone else in today's world.

Last time the Muslims ran the eastern half of the city every single Jew was thrown out of his home, along with every Synagogue destroyed and the Western wall used as a dump with plans to destroy every passage leading to it.

But never again.

Anecdote to the Hurva Synagogue: When it was reopened after being rebuild Hamas, Fatah and all the other idiots from their various idiot brigades immediately called it a threat to the glorious Al-Aqsa Mosque and that the Jews were out to destroy it. That was in 2010.

Acheinu kol beit yisrael, han'tunim b'tzara uvashivyah, haomdim bein bayam uvein bayabasha.

As for our brothers, the whole house of Israel, who are given over to trouble or captivity, whether they abide on the sea or on the dry land:
May the All-present have mercy upon them, and bring them forth from trouble to enlargement, from darkness to light, and from subjection to redemption, now speedily and at a near time; and let us say, Amen.

Not sure what you mean.

Do you want to know about the relevance of Jerusalem to Jews?
Or do you want to know what Christian and Muslim claims mean to us?

United nation isn't a Muslim institution, irreligious institution such the UN will be unbiased and peace
will prevail in our region, all the Abrahamic followers can feel secure under the UN protection.

Well then shouldn't you be giving back your land and home to native Americans??? Plus there is no evidence the Jews were the earliest settlers of Israel/Palestine, in fact according to their own scriptures they were not.

Wow, shows how much you understand what is going on in the world... Search Google for the UN is corrupt..... The whole world is corrupt, and you want to fix it, by putting one of the culprits in charge.

Yeah like in Rwanda or Bosnia.

I learned a new word today. Cool.

Jerusalem is the centre of the Universe for Jews. The city and to be more precise the Temple Mount contains the Holy of Holies, the most sacred place on earth according to Judaism.
Its where the Temples stood and the only city where a Temple is allowed to be build.
The city is the superlative for Jews.

Regarding the claims of Christians and Muslims, its quite simply of no religious concern to us.

That's why attitudes like you express are of no interest or concern to me either, people that do not want to coexist peacefully with their neighbors don't really deserve any power on this earth.

Boohoo.
Am I supposed to have sympathy for them because they occupy the Temple Mount and the Cave of the Patriarchs?

Any more Jewish holy places to finish it off? How about a mosque directly at the Western Wall while we are at it? They did it with the Temple Mount and the Cave of the Patriarchs so why not there too?

They even did it with Solomon's stables. Tells you how desperate and rotten the Waqf is.

Also I have yet to hurt people or advocate harming them. Call me when you catch me outside stabbing random people.

It's religious exceptionalism at its finest.

Well at least we didn't build our holy sites on the holy sites of other people.

So? That logic doesn't stop the Israeli government throwing people out of their homes to make way for settlers.

I wonder if Barak or Olmert are still waiting for Abbas to call them back regarding the two peace proposals they both made.

Oh and the settlements in Area C aren't being enlarged.
