You can be the judge of that.

I've been trying to balance how the Diaspora identity blends with Roman and Christian identity in the mind of Paul. It's nothing more than a brainstorm right now.

I've been making some notes on it... but I've devoted the day to translating Jeremiah 7.1-8.3 from Hebrew and Greek and reading a few books on Roman patronage. I won't be able to think about this until tomorrow.

Dear A_E:

There are several really good medications that can suppress and diminish (in some cases, even eliminate) all those voices and spurious personalities...

Just kidding! Your theory is compelling. I have always been taught that the God we find in the Bible was thought of by the writers and by the later Jews as a regional God. God lived on the mountain. God lived in the Temple. I suppose it's not out of line to think that the early Christians thought regionally, as well. One could argue that the modern world view is vastly different from that of the early Christians. I have also heard it argued that the Church should have been vastly overhauled at Constantine.

Can I join you in the beer, now?

Yes... Christianity came right out of a re-interpretation of Judaism...

Regional? I can understand regional. Guess it's just that our regions are quite a bit bigger now.
