Jesus' Four Failed Prophecies About Him Returning In The Lifetimes Of His Apostles

///Paul believed fervently that Jesus would return in his lifetime:

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then WE who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord." 1 Thessolonians 4:16-17///

We ? The' WE ' is Christians. The body of believers. Not Just those who Paul was addressing.
Yet the question remains: why was Jesus a no-show? Unless he never made the prediction to begin with. Some wishful scribe wrote it in.

No ,its the whosoever that believe s on him should not perish ,but have eternal life . You for example will not perish and have eternal life ,if you believe on him.
But I don't believe on him. I don't really even believe IN him. I think he was an ordinary zealot against Rome who was captured and crucified. later stories about him started appearing and got embellished. The gospel writers then picked up the legend and turned him into an avatar for their new religion.

Could you quote the verse please then where Paul says it WILL be during his lifetime?
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

I see a prophecy. I understand it at last. The last trump:

Which is why you misunderstand . It takes more to believe the ' theories ' about the bible than the bible itself. Well not if you don't read it .

So the We can only mean Paul and those at Thess ? Come on ,this is silly . The WE is Believers .

The Bible makes more atheists out of people than any other means out there.

After my column appeared, several atheists said reading the Bible was what turned them into atheists. Or, at least, the Bible played a role in that transformation.

Fair enough. I see how that could happen.

Those that make the error of reading the Bible too literally. There exists a whole range of literalists who's beliefs have been refuted. The looniest are the Flat Earthers'. Not all, but most of the Flat Earther's are Christians that base their beliefs largely on the Bible. Read literally and in context it only describes a Flat Earth in word and deed.

Evidence that most of the Flat Earther's (watch those apostrophes) are Christians? (Don't run away).
