Jesus Loves Me This I Know, for the Bible Tells Me so

That may be a reason... but in Christianity... growing up with it doesn't count. It is personal faith that counts.

what is it that convinced you that the Bible is true and worth relying on?
I saw your "Jesus loves you . . . " and was turned off. As he said, why do you call me Lord if you don't obey me. Thus people are going to find that living in willful sin will get a death sentence from this Judge Jesus.

However, I was bored and read until your quoted line here. The Bible studies with Biblical history, archaeology, and the evidence for this, on top of the prophecies we studied, with the teachings and the miracles of Jesus that I accept happened as a result of the whole package - gives me a solid personal foundation on which I built my faith. When adding that my prayers, very specific at times, have been answered many times, both with positive messages and warnings, so to say - there is no way that I can deny that God and Christ exist.

What I can do, however, is like satan get myself disqualified. Satan knows God and his son exist, he just is not on their side. There is always the deceptive appeal of sin that calls, and it is easy to fall prey to this and become damned, that is, for the one who has faith. I would still know the Bible to be true, God to be, Christ to be - it just wouldn't benefit me anymore.

It's been done 100 times already. The answer is more than one line, more than a few paragraphs. What the OP is looking for is a short answer they can pick apart like a sardine.

Perhaps, but there will always be new people watching from the sidelines who might gain some insight from the latest iteration..

I was speaking to your sideline people. Must not be any. But I did think of a good way of explaining what I see as truth. It is said that hindsight is 20/20. Looking back what you did not first see become clear. There is plenty of this all through the bible. When Christ came and died on the cross the meaning of the old testament became clear. For instance the scapegoat which was discussed on another thread. People see the similarity between Jesus and a scapegoat. In Leviticus when the Israelites put all their sins on a goat and sent it into the wilderness nobody had a clue it symbolized Jesus on the cross. but now in hindsight it is clear. So many of these 20/20 moments of scripture compiled over many generations nobody can honestly say coincidence to them all. No one person or generation was around long enough to plan it all, therefore Jesus is truth.

Not convinced this is the right road to take, they hold onto the fact that Jesus Loves Me This I Know, for the Bible Tells Me so.
The funny thing is, and something I only realized as an adult, that as a gentile woman from a descendant country of the Roman Empire, Jesus would NOT have loved me. If I went back in time to go meet him, I'd be stoned to death before I ever got to the right neighborhood for being a white devil or something. :)

Libs always using "black folk" as a crutch...
Conservs always wondering what the big deal with blacks is anyway.

Proverbs 28:26 "He who trusts in his own mind is a fool"
And anyone who just blindly comes out of someone else's minds is a bigger fool.

Oh, wait, there's a problem with this:

But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.

You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred?
Guess we'll see Jesus and a few other biblical authors in hell. Whoops.
