let me try this again. i was accused of being off-topic, but i really would like to talk about the jewish afterlife and to have a discussion about the jewish afterlife, because the jewish afterlife affects even christians and muslims, not just the jews. let's see if i can remain on topic.
moderator: if i am off-topic again, i apologize. please let me know how it was off-topic. i will begin with my first post about the movie promised land.
==================
i have heard that the movie promised land starring matt damon is about jewish afterlife (it actually is about a town being hoodwinked by a gas company). you will find this so funny: that picture of matt damon on the poster is supposed to suggest the jewish messiah! the way he's posing, the composition, all suggest messiah. he's not jesus, who by some is believed to be the messiah who will lead the jewish people to afterlife, because jesus in the movie symbolically is a false messiah. several characters in the movie represent christianity.
i thought i'd just mention it because that movie is full of lovely scenes of jewish afterlife, bucolic scenes that could be representations of the "promised land" of torah.
