John Travolta, stars and cults

The thing about the Scientology church is that so many stars have been members there. There are other cults stars seem to be drawn too, don't know if Madonnas Hebrew Kabbalah was cult like or not, I have read many starts were drawn to it as well.

Its hard on me with John Travolta because at the age of 65, I don;t think hes ever renounced Scientology and I think continues to give it credit and be into Scientology. But I love John Travolta, I had a crush on him when he came out in 75 on Welcome Back Kotter and I was 8 years old.

Me and my sisters loved him and my Dad got so tired of us talking about him, he use to call him John Revolting LOL!
Still got a crush on him even at his age now 65 he still looks great. But yea I am a bit conflicted, I wish we could get rid of the Scientology church.

So the question is , if your favorite stars belong to fanatical group you believe is dangerous do you still support your favorite stars by seeing their movies, music etc?
This is one of my favorite John Travolta videos.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Remember Bill Cosby? I think the real man is a lot different than his stage persona.

It's hard to be disconnected from what you see on film and what goes on in real life. It's a real head-scratcher why anybody would want to be a Scientologist run by a psychopath.

It takes some getting used to, trust me and Hollywood is just what it is. A business of Make Believe.

Yup. Example, I LOVE My Name is Earl despite Jason Lee and Ethan Suplee both having been Scientologists at the time.

Yes there is a difference between someone in a brainwashing cult and a person who has committed sexual assault. I know what you mean though, i can't help but still like the old Cosby Show or sometimes I still watch A Different World. Did Madonna stop doing her Kaballas group? What happened with it anyone know?

Richard Wagner was a Teutonic nationalist and anti-Semite. We still play his music in many places and on many occasions. Which is a good thing, because he composed many wonderful songs. Including the very famous Bridal Chorus.

Mel Gibson who belongs to a Catholic white racist cult is the one person I can not stand. His story is still up under Reelz on cable. He was the director for Passion of Christ? The movie made about crucifixion with graphic detail.

John Travolta also gives a huge amount of money to Scientology in the pyramid scam.

I'm pretty sure he's making money off of it.

One thing Ron Hubbard knew really well was how to fleece gullible and naive people and win that legendary bar bet in the same shot.

The very fact you have to pay your way through the religion should raise so many red flags in people , it just gets to the point where you got to say they deserve everything they got coming to them.

At least a few got the hell out of Dodge and blew the whistle long and loud on them.

To this day nobody knows where the wife of David Miscavage. is, and a lot of people suspect she was murdered.

Tom Cruise is famously a Scientologist. Rainn Wilson is a Bahai.

He also composed the Ring Cycle and several other massive operas

Yes I've heard bad things about Tom Cruise from Leah Remini. I also saw Tom jump on a couch on one of the talk shows he was on and yell out I am a God.Its a Scientology thing.weird........

Baha'i is hardly a 'cult'. Neither is studying cabala.

Leah Remini created a whole series on her horrible experiences with scientology. I think it's on Netflix, or Amazon.

The Baha'i Faith is not a cult.

I agree its not a cult. Its not your typical church or synagogue either though, I love their Universal ideas but some would say they're a bit our there So I am guessing Hollywood in general tends to have religions that don't belong in the typical church categories which I guess is ok.
