Scientology has long had a relation with public celebrities. Their building in Hollywood was a deliberate move to be in close proximity to celebrities. And usually the celebrities are pretty much in the dark about the church, and instead are minimally involved and are showered in lavish gifts and luxury for their support of the church, which helps them to draw in people to go through the normal process.

I agree its not a cult. Its not your typical church or synagogue either though,

I hope not.

I love their Universal ideas but some would say they're a bit our there So I am guessing Hollywood in general tends to have religions that don't belong in the typical church categories which I guess is ok.

Actually the Baha'i Faith is the closest theist religion to the Unitarian Universalist.
