Yea yea I’ve made political posts too… well, I’m done! The temperature is too hot! The atmosphere is too thick! Half of these threads have devolved to I know you are but what am I?

I joined another forum on another topic the other day, and no political discussion is allowed. It is much more quiet, but it is much more peaceful. So, I got the bright idea to eliminate the political discourse on my news feed over here! So I went through the “new posts” ten pages and ignored everyone who had been frequently engaging in political discussion. That made 44 people I ignored.

I’ll probably unignore you all on Election Day and grab my bucket of popcorn.

Anyways, I thought the amount I ignored was silly and wanted to share. I expected I would ignore maybe a dozen people but at the end of it it was 44 hahahaha.

You probably have me on ignore, but in case you peek, I just wanted to let you know I don't have you on ignore.

However - if you're peeking, I'll add that you can use the two links at the top of the index page to go directly to new threads in religious topics and new threads in general and miscellaneous topics and avoid all politics altogether. It does create a siloing effect, but for those who prefer to silo, it's perfect:

Even though you will not read this (at this time), I want to say that putting people on ignore when you want to ignore topics, is not the right way. Just don't klick on new post that are posted in North American Politics.

I have used the ignore function on four RFers, but took them all off. I discovered that it didn't matter.

There's one still won't read ever - the others, I occasionally read their comments but never reply to - but it's easy to skip over his posts even when they are visible.

Sometimes people put other people on ignore for the same reason that vampires don't have mirrors in their house.
