Judas did the right thing

If the gospels are indeed the truth, Jesus multiple times prophesied in advance what was to come. He even prophesied about Judas betraying him before it happened.

So, if Jesus knew about future events, then he would have known that Judas would betray him when he chose Judas to be an apostle.

The only reason Jesus would choose someone who he knew in advance would betray him, is because Jesus was asking for it.

Therefore, Judas did the right thing. God likes drama and wanted Christ to be betrayed as well as put to death.

It's all fun and games with God. ;)

What Judas did was both wrong and right. But it was what God wanted, so it was actually a good thing and part of the plan for salvation and redemption.

According to Christian theology, the crucifixion of Jesus Christ was a good thing.

His action may have aligned with Gods plan, but his motivation for money was aligned with satans will.

The motives are just as important to God as our actions, if not more so.

God will take account of every motive we have.

I have two minds about it: Judas is made up to scapegoat the fact that "Satan" Peter actually betrayed him so he'd be top dog or Jesus and Judas conspired to do this thinking they'd have some epic moment where they shame the authorities into accepting them, but it didn't work.

Judas' action might have been helpful, but that does not mean he was in the right. Judas' intentions, betraying a friend and teacher for the sake of pocketing a few silver coins, was in every way morally wrong. However, it does not stop God from using this evil deed for something good and helpful.

I don’t think Jesus was asking it. Jesus made it possible, but that is not same as asking for it.

So much for the free will argument. ;0)
