Matthew 25:31
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

* Judgement day is the separation of the righteous from the unrighteous! Who are Righteous? They are those who DO RIGHT!

1 John 3:7 Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.
And how do we know there is a kingdom? And why should there be a kingdom?

We all need help at some stage in life.....

First we have to know why a judgment day is even necessary before we understand what it is.

Why do humans need judging? It goes back to Eden when our first father Adam threw all his children under the bus (metaphorically speaking) by disobeying a direct command from God and becoming sinful and subject to its consequences...i.e. subject to wrong decisions leading to wrongdoing and death. Like an awful genetic defect, we inherited his debt.

God sent a rescue mission in the person of Jesus Christ, but only after allowing the first humans to fulfill the first mandate given to them.....to "fill the earth" with their kind. Each one however was born with the defect of sin, (Romans 5:12) but that in itself was not a reason to lose our everlasting life on account of it. God provided his word and the teachings of his son to guide us to a way that would not lead to everlasting death....the penalty that Adam suffered. His children would be given an opportunity to prove that they could defeat sin by their obedience to God....as Christ had done.

This is what the judgment is for....to see who among mankind can see the value of obedience to God without question, and who believes that it is more beneficial to do your own thing, regardless of what God's says. At this time in history we would clearly see who was would qualify for a place in the Kingdom of God, and who would forfeit their life to selfish ambitions.

If you go back to Eden, obedience is all God ever asked of his earthly children....disobedience took their life away and obedience gets it back, thanks to the sacrifice of Christ who paid the debt that Adam left for his children so that we could become citizens of God's Kingdom on earth.

I believe that doing things God's way rather than our own way is the key to gaining his approval.
The criteria for citizenship is obedience in everything. We can't 'earn' a spot in the kingdom but we can put ourselves in line for it by our conduct. Our entry is up to Jesus who is appointed as judge of all of us. He can read hearts. (Matthew 7:21-23)

I believe that it is necessary because God always finishes what he starts. (Isaiah 55:11) He purposed for this earth to be filled with obedient humans who would represent him here as caretakers of the planet and all the living things upon it....including each other. We have strayed very far from that original prospect, so God set a time limit where he would allow human kind to fill the earth and he would educate them about his ways and then judge them accordingly. But there was a time limit....filling the earth would take time.

Since the Kingdom will "come" ready or not, it is up to us to be found by God obedient to all his commands when it does. We will get little warning about the day and the hour, but the times will alert us to its approach......the world will be in chaos which will get progressively worse. The ruling powers would be pushing against one another.

We have no idea what God is going to do with the rest of the Universe but its vastness suggests that we will not be the only lifeforms in existence....he may well want to fill other planets with living things because he is a Creator who loves to create. I guess we will find out soon enough.

The judgment that Jesus metes out when he manifests as judge will only be for the separation of "the sheep from the goats"...IOW those who are alive at that time will receive one judgment or the other....but there is another judgement day of 1,000 years where the rulership of God's Kingdom will see the resurrection of the dead and their education during that time in preparation for one final test at the end of that period.....only those who pass that final test will inherit what Adam threw away....everlasting life in paradise on earth.

That is how I understand judgment day....
So, God judged Adam. Why the sin passed down the kids??? Wasn't Adam enough to judge???

Maybe ''judgement day'' is pauses between eternal reincarnations. :)

Eh. If I believed in reincarnations I'd say there's no gap just on continuous life like a ferris wheel. Maybe people want judgement because they're tired of going around in circles.

So, God judged Adam. Why the sin passed down the kids??? Wasn't Adam enough to judge???

This is how I see the situation from the Bible’s perspective.....

God created all of his intelligent creatures with free will. It was part of their being created “in God’s image”.....but if you look at the Biblical history of the way free will has been used among God’s angels, there is no record of rebellion in the spirit realm before the creation of humans. There was actually no reason for them to rebel because it would not have benefitted them in any way....they were all equal despite the fact that rank was apparent with Cherubs assigned as guardians, and Seraphs depicted as attendants upon God in close proximity to him. The word “angel” means “messenger”, so God used them to convey his messages to his human servants.

With that in mind, the situation in Eden with the addition of humans, created a whole new dynamic....lower intelligent creatures, who possessed God’s attributes, had a capacity for worship, which in turn created an inordinate desire in one of his Cherubs (a guardian appointed in Eden) to begin to entertain the prospect of gaining worship for himself. Observing the humans in the garden, he must have planned his moves very carefully.

He could become a god to them, but only if he could separate them from their Creator by getting them to abuse their free will. He had to lure them away from God by insinuating that they would be better off if they listened to him, and not be bound by restrictive rules.....appealing to self interest, he targeted the newest member of the human pair and lied to her. She believed him and she in turn influenced her husband to disobey, and both ended up with a whole new life....but not the one they had anticipated.

The death penalty was not instantaneous, but like an inherited genetic defect, sin created a physical condition that would lead to making poor decisions, tragedies, various sicknesses and eventual death......this was directly linked to their spiritual condition, now separated from their Creator. They would see first hand what their decision led to....and so would their children. This was a lesson that no one would forget.

God also barred the way to the “tree of life” which was freely available to them before they sinned....the fruit or leaves of this tree had the ability to keep the humans alive forever in their mortal flesh. (Genesis 3:22-24)

God could have eliminated the rebels and started again, but all that would have proven is that God is more powerful......but satan did not challenge God’s power....he challenged his sovereignty...his right to tell his creatures how to live and to set reasonable boundaries for them, for their benefit.

There would have been nothing to stop another rebel spirit from abusing his free will, taking up the banner and sabotaging any new beginning.....so in order to address the issues that satan raised about God’s character....did he have the best interests of his children at heart or was he keeping something from them that they had a right to know? Did God lie to them about the penalty? Was he unreasonable in keeping one tree of the garden to himself, after giving them access to every other tree of the garden?......hadn’t he already amply demonstrated his love and generosity?

God apparently decided to allow the humans and the devil to reap what they had sown.....he would step out of their lives and let them see for themselves what their disobedience would lead to.

For all of us, this is an exercise in what it means to live without God’s protection from the elements, from other creatures, and from each other. Outside the garden, life was very different. Not at all what the humans were expecting.....but we have “filled the earth” with our kind, and also filled it with misery and tragedy by doing things “our” way.

This is the most important object lesson that the humans and even the angels (many of whom satan was also able to lead away from God) will ever have. Proving that disobedience to God will never be a good idea...it always leads to disaster. Look at the state of the world at present.....how did we get here? We were not designed to rule ourselves because power corrupts us....we are designed to be ruled by our loving Creator. He knows what is good for us. Obeying him is never a bad idea.

That is what makes sense to me from my study of the Bible....

Please, I need help.

What is judgement day?

How does it affect us?

Is it necessary to happen? Why?

Please, if you have information of the use of judgement day, please share.

You need to first understand why it is a necessity.

The analogy is that you have built a large mansion then invite all your friends and relatives to live in. You thus set up rules for them to follow, such that they won't shout at night or train your kids up to be criminals, murderers or prostitutes. If they breaks your rules they will thus be kicked out of your mansion. Heaven is built the same way, God sets His Law for all to follow. However by freewill some will break His Law and will thus be "kicked out" in the timeline of eternity (which we refer to as Heaven).

Now how about "kick them out" even before they set foot in Heaven? You can first build a large camp which is temporary, then invite the same friends and relatives to live in, set up the same rules. By given extended time, those who break your rules will thus show up.
God allows the angels to divide by given an extended period of time. This is followed by a Final Judgment, such that the fallen angels can be stopped from entering Heaven.
Planet earth serves the same purpose but for humans, we have a life time here to display who we are. The Final Judgment will decide whether one can fulfill the requirement set forth by a covenant to enter Heaven.

Because you have no idea what a world without God is. You will certainly choose to live with God instead of without Him in an eternity. However you seem to have a choice now before you actually know.

It's about what we humans can do. We mostly read facts from testimonies in our reality. We mostly don't rely on evidence to get to facts, nor imaginations.

Judgement Day has long struck me as one of the more irrational teachings of Christian theology.

The God image of Genesis seems more of a bumbler. He planted the tree, left A&E alone with it and a serpent, then blames them for the outcome. And to make Him look even weaker, He cannot repair the problem caused by eating the fruit. So, now we are stuck with tsunamis and viruses and tornadoes.

And worst of all, we're stuck with human nature. God insists on making everyone ignorant, weak, fragile, and quite stupid. Then blames us for the outcome of that as well!

I just cannot believe that such a God image is anything more important than the cumulative results of humans creating God in their own image. Nothing objective or real.

ETA ~I have a faith based belief about the afterlife that I strongly prefer.
When we die, our spirit separates from our body. Our meat continues on in the vast cycle of transformation that is the material world. Our spirit merges back into god. Kinda like a raindrop falling back into the ocean. All that really ends is the illusion of separation from God.
We're better off without that.~

I wouldn't fret too much ;)

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works ?

ημερα ( hemera - day ) in that verse of Matthew doesn't necessarily refer to a singular day, it's also used to refer to a general span of time, like an era, so I would ignore end times fanatics that threaten you with a specific " day " of wrath

Its the same inference as claiming the last day.

Imagine you are living on a natural planet and science keeps changing the space through which the planet travels, as the same cycle over and over again.

And then suddenly Earth O as the ST ONE body of the science quotes passes through a changed constant space and Earth suddenly loses its day light.

What would be your first thought?

That it was your last day, that you were about to die, and that God was going to kill you like all the verbal past down through history stories about Temple/pyramid science history.

And say, we all were told it would happen and then wait for it all to end.

Yet it never did. But you would have to write and record the happening as a warning of probabilities and prophecy as a mathematical human owned and human caused reasoning, so that you would not be stupid enough to do it again. Yet you did.

]Please, I need help.

What is judgement day?

For Baha'is "Judgement Day" is whether or not people recognize the latest Manifestation of God

How does it affect us?

The issue is whether or not you recognize the Manifestation ifor this day.

Is it necessary to happen? Why?

Yes it's necessary because the revelation for this day has guidance for this day and time.

Please, if you have information of the use of judgement day, please share.

This is the Day whereon the All-Merciful hath come down in the clouds of knowledge, clothed with manifest sovereignty. He well knoweth the actions of men. He it is Whose glory none can mistake, could ye but comprehend it. The heaven of every religion hath been rent, and the earth of human understanding been cleft asunder, and the angels of God are seen descending.

Baha’u’llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’llah, p. 45.

Whether ye rejoice or whether ye burst for fury, the heavens are cleft asunder, and God hath come down, invested with radiant sovereignty. All created things are heard exclaiming: “The Kingdom is God’s, the Almighty, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.

Baha’u’llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’llah, p. 42.
