Cut taxes on the wealthy and increase it on the middle and lower which did not trickle down to everyone.
Blame the "liberal media" for their own problems.
Try to cover up and lie about what is going on financially.
Destroy the educational system.
Refusing to admit they were wrong.
Threaten to cut off funding for the judiciary because they insist on being independent and doing their jobs.
Degrading health care for those in need.
Having their credit rating drop due to the failed fiscal policies.
Lagging behind in job and economic growth
And more.

I applaud this decision. Kansas can turn into a failed State, sadly, unless the citizens wake up.

“I can’t, in good conscience, continue to give our tax money to a government that actively works against the needs of its citizens; a state that is systematically targeting the citizens in most need, denying them critical care and reducing their cost of life as if they’re simply a tax burden that should be ignored.” – Jeff Blackwood, CEO of Pathfinder Health Innovations

Under Brownback’s direction, Kansas implemented an unprecedented tax cut in 2012, eliminating taxes for LLCs and professional firms (for full disclosure, PHI is a C Corporation) and making the largest cuts in the highest tax brackets. He shifted taxes to create a heavier burden on property and sales taxes, which typically represent a larger burden on lower income brackets. Brownback declared that this tax cut would be a “shot of adrenaline” for the Kansas economy, but the reality is that the tax cuts have had the opposite effect. Kansas lags neighboring states in job growth. For 11 of the last 12 months, Kansas has dramatically missed revenue targets, falling deeper in debt and facing another round of degraded bond ratings.
...
At the same time, Brownback decided to pursue a personal vendetta against the Kansas Bioscience Authority, an organization created to spur the economic development of bioscience companies in Kansas. Brownback was convinced that funds were being misused, so he decided we needed to spend over $400,000 (conveniently, the same amount that could have kept the Lawrence SRS office open) on lawyers and auditors to pour over the KBA books. In the end, they found a total of $5,000 in misused funds, which the former KBA president repaid with a personal check. It all came down to priorities – pursue a personal vendetta at the expense of the disabled.

That's expected. There's a reason why red states are poor and poorly educated. Republicans don't work for the middle class. Take Wisconsin and Scott Walker for example. He destroyed that state. Of course their voters aren't told any information or facts about these people. They are intentionally left in the dark to pertinent information. This is why RW media is dangerous, people that only subscribe to it are not hearing these things. They're fooled over and over and over. Look at the republican congress they put into office. The worst approval ratings in the history of the country, and they lie to get elected. The writing has been on the wall for decades, but they continue to vote republican out of fear.

Propaganda is powerful. Demonize the opposition all day long and you'll fool voters into never voting for them.

Never vote republican, unless you're in the top 1% and/or a greedy corrupt corporation.

Not that you would ever sink to demonizing the opposition. Nope. Never...

We're running to much the same here in Michigan with our Republican-controlled Congress and our Republican governor. Much, but not all, of the above I could repeat in terms of what's happening here, and then I'd throw in "Flint" as a trump card.

Take FL for instance. Gov Rick Scott, doesn't have any money. He declared a state of emergency during some silly tropical storm last month so he could get access to federal funds. Not a hurricane, a tropical storm. He did the same thing after the Orlando massacre. Both unprecedented. Let's not even get into him opening up the locks to Lake Okeechobee and releasing polluted water into the gulf because he doesn't have the money to fix the problem to begin with.

Why didn't you respond to the OP?
I don't know enough about the situation in Kansas to say, Metis. There is no excuse for poor fiscal management whether it be Republicans in Kansas or Michigan or Democrats who have run many large cities for decades. tytlyf's response was so overtly hypocritial, that I couldn't help myself. It's not like there aren't areas that have been controlled by Democats for years that haven't screwed the pooch.

My point wasn't in terms of me being sarcastic but that I'd have hoped you chimed in on what the OP was about in general even if you felt uncomfortable about trying to go into specifics about Kansas' or Michigan's situations.

If KS taxed LLCs, then this was bad policy anyway.
Fed LLC income/loss passes directly to the individual, so income tax on it is still paid.
This is how it's always worked for MI state tax, so there's taxation but no double taxation.
I have several LLCs.
Anyone else have one?
