I knew so little about American politics, but republicans explain it pretty well.

I saw a profile on Kari Lake and she used to be a reasonable person. She apparently voted for Obama and was critical of Trump as a candidate in 2015. I wonder what happened to her. Could it be she is faking? Or did she see adopting the MAGA extremism as a way to attain her goals, like a patty Hurst?

It's almost like a rational atheist becoming a fervent fundamentalist Christian. I just don't see it being genuine.

The endorsement is reprehensible, to be sure, but a subset of the left have shown their values aren't so consistent either when they sang the praises of Liz Cheney despite her hawkish and warmongering history. It seems that to some people, contributing to war crimes and 500,000 deaths is more acceptable than homophobic and antisemitic remarks.

I usually try to stay out of Israeli-Palestinian topics because it can get heated, very quick. But as I have Palestinian blood, it's a subject that is very important to me.

Yes, you can be critical of the Israeli government and not be an anti-Semite. But you do have to watch your words, because all too often, you can fall into the trap of reciting anti-Semetic dog whistles without even realizing it. Add to that, I have seen many pages on facebook depicting Jewish people in horrifyingly offensive ways.

I don't agree with the way the Palestinian people are being treated. But I'm also not okay with the anti-Semitism. I've also seen random Jewish tiktokers literally just post about their cats, and most of the comments are "free Palestine." As if that content creator was responsible for what's going on. That's wrong. That's anti-Semitic. Because actual Palestinians are also commenting back, "please stop, you aren't helping, you're just making it worse for us."

Trump speaks at a 4-5 grade level, so that was one way he appealed to the less educated. And he exploited emotions, especially anger and fear, and that appeals to the primitive parts of the human brain. The emotional appeal is typically subconscious and activates the reward center of the brain, so the person can't asses the message critically, and can fall into a habit of seeking out hate rhetoric to find the euphoric "fix" more and more. This explains the success of Trump's rallies, it is literally people seeking a pavlovian reward.

This coresponds to polls that show the lesser educated are attracted to MAGA candidates while the democrats appeal more to college educated.

So you are biased. I notice you avoided my question about your media sources. Those who aren't ashamed tend to answer my question, and that tends to be reputable media.

By your way of thinking anyone who does illegal acts cannot be held accountable by the next administration if it is the other party. Does that work?

William Barr did some ethically dubious things as Trump's last AG but he did resign when he saw Trump on the verge of doing illegal acts. Garland is doing his job as described by law. The FBI is doing its job and following the law. I suggest avoiding far right wing disinformation that aims to skew your beliefs on what is going on. You seem to be influenced by them.

False. Those on the left who praise Cheney are doing so ONLY for her ethics in standing up to Trump and his corruption. They state emphatically they do not support her attitudes on the war or the majority of her political policies. It is possible for people to have nuanced attitudes.
