Knowing The Truth Isn’t Necessary

Jimmy

Many, many people all over the world will live and die not knowing the truth about the mysteries of life imo. That doesn’t make them any less. Life is about treating people kind and doing the best you can do. That’s all. It isn’t any deeper than that really. Everyone on this planet is a child of God imo. Some will know the truth, some won’t, but we’re all in this together.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy Elah, I will also forget thy children.
Hosea 4:6

He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
Isaiah 53:11

Knowing anything about existence with 100% certainty is often fantasy. There's enough there to see that life is a mystery. But to be honest and kind hearted one has to accept that knowledge is a great challenge with no guarantees and many limits to overcome. Wisdom and truth are truthfully not guaranteed to happen at all either.

But the truth about simple kindness and it's necessity is not hard at all. It doesn't take a PhD.
And anyone can do it without deep scientific, cultural, historical , religious, and philosophical background. No hoops to jump through, no conditions to meet, just plain old heart.

I agree knowing the truth isn't going to do anything for anybody in the long run, but truth does apply to people living now , which is why I think the truth is so important.

Well for X is Y and not Z or X is Z and not Y, it can be observed that there are at least 3 positions possible.
-It is true that X is Y and not Z
-It is true that X is Z and not Y
-It is unknown for truth what X is

So to claim truth, it is for me also important to know the limit of truth.

@King Phenomenon Yes, I do fine without knowing the truth.

Facts are true or false relative to other facts that are true or false relative to yet other facts, and so on. And their relative truthfulness changes as the facts they are being related to, change. So their truthfulness is both relative and dynamic (contextual). Yet this is as close to the "truth" as we humans can ever get. All we can ever really know is what is factually true within the context of the moment.

So ultimately, none of us "knows the truth". Certainly not the "whole truth", and what other truth is there, really? "Partial truth"?

Often fantasy? Yes, unfortunately many, many people will live and die not knowing the truth of life’s mysteries imo.

Would wars end if we all knew the truth? Who knows. …maybe more wars would be likely. Truth about life’s mysteries isn’t that important imo.

Actual truth is the hardest road to travel and discover. Even if you get to truth, how do you know it once you've arrived. There's always the chance one is wrong.

The truth is there to be discovered and it can imo. Although difficult, not impossible.

Good point, as I see from things like the NDE that your religious beliefs are not really what's important, but the quality of your heart and mind is what really matters most.
