What state would you like to be in?
1. A state of always thinking you are going to heaven and you get to sin all the time with no repercussions and then show up on the Day of Judgement under your own error?
2. Standing in front of your Creator one day proud to know that you have tried your best to please him?
3. transcending the illusion of creator and created. Waking from the dream.
It isn't about having to face that in Islam. Muslims know they are on the right way. In saying that, not all Muslims are practicing. (big difference between a practicing and non practicing)
How can Muslims know that Islam is the true religion at the same time Christians know that Christianity is true and Sikhs know Sikhism is true?
Seems to be that somebody's "knowledge" must be flawed.

How to decide....
When I became a Muslim, it was like the entire weight of the world was lifted off my shoulders. In Islam, we are only here on this earth, to worship him, not to play and ignore and hope for the best. That's why he has warned so many times---after the last time- the judgement.
Yes, this feeling of elation on adopting a religion, new social status, &c is well known in psychology.
Why does God want us to worship him? What does he gain? Is it vanity or insecurity behind this need?

Spirit of Light

Be who ever you want
I have to run soon, sorry.

But you are referencing only one religious view. There are many, many others. The Fundamentalist movement in America is only a very small portion of Christian thought. It does not represent the majority of Christian thought and certainly not in history, since it is a relatively modern movement.

I have read the Koran. I love the Sufi poets and have deep respect for Islam.

But do remember that the Koran declares David, Solomon and Jesus to all be prophets of God.
I believe that if every human could show love and compassion toward all others, no matter religious beliefs or not, this world would be a good place to live :)
To accept that not everyone believe as we do our self, and be able to love them as brother and sisters even they are from different faith. :)

I can say all I want to, but the bottom line is, until you do your own research, it really won't matter what I say :)

But nonetheless, The Quran speaks for itself. I could give you a whole of of verses but it will not really matter unless you are sincerely looking to understand. :)

Allah is the Creator of you and me. In Islam, he said he has sent messages from before through messengers in the past (peace and blessing be upon them all) but it was mankind that grew arrogant, went astray, did his own will and went further away from the truth. So, He said the Quran was his last revelation and message to mankind. In it he says that we are to only worship him and that is why we were created. To constantly question Allah is not allowed. He knows more than we do and we shouldn't cross the boundaries.

Allah has the most beautiful names, attributes and qualities....no other being can compare. He says he is the one and only, that he is not in need of anything, not wanting, that he doesn't beget nor is begotten and no one is comparable unto him.

In Islam, He creates whom he wills and he punishes those who best fits his punishments. So we as ordinary laymen, I ask, Are you up to challenging Allah?

IE: unless you're looking at them uncritically.

But this is just preaching, MyM.

Believers of every religion make similar statements, so how are we to decide what's really true unless we critically analyze and test their/your assertions; unless we insist on objective evidence backing them up?

Well, if you are an athiest, I leave you to be it. No sense in discussing. Since the topic already doesn't apply to athiests. That is why Allah gave you a brain for YOU to go and find out. :)

Allah Musta'aan.

And Allah knows best.
