Knowing your IQ

It doesn't help matters that I tested once at around 90, a couple of other times at different levels in my school career. I, as a result, think they are very unreliable.
When I was four, they did some type of intelligence test at the Catholic school that my parents were trying to get me in to. I failed. :p Of course, they made me take the test alone with a stranger and I didn't feel like cooperating. IQ Tests often better reflect the intelligence of the person designing the test than the person taking it.

We agree on this wholeheartedly :D.

Mine's relatively high, I think, but that's mostly because I know how to take tests well (a skill that will be useful up until college and then serve me in good stead when I'll know to fill in those darn bubbles when voting)...I can usually figure out how to play their games, you know? But I don't really think it's that important. Intelligence doesn't mean much unless you do something with it...

I had mine tested in second, and sixth grade. It was the same. But it has nothing to do with intelligence acquired, only with how well intelligence can be aquired. But I noticed that the people with normal - gifted intelligence worked harder and got better grades. But those who were either below average or genius were lazy and did nothing in school. The below average were playing with action figures while the genius' were playing with puzzles. Or in high school, the below average were smoking weed, and the genius' were selling it to them. (This is of course a personal observation of one school setting, in no way does it try to state fact about the whole of society.)

Funny thing about it is...is do you really need a test to tell someone who's bright at something from someone who isn't? "Oh look, there's Rob. He built his own computer and wrote his compiler from scratch." I mean...I don't think I need a sign from heaven to tell most of the time :).
