What if Monotheism is wrong, and there are actually many thousands of Gods?...

I can believe there at least have been many gods. But, I would keep only Bible God as my God. Why? Because I think He is the only one worthy to be kept as my God.

…For though there are things that are called "gods," whether in the heavens or on earth; as there are many "gods" and many "lords;" yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we live through him.

Not possible.
As the most basic idea of god is the sum of all. even if there are billions of "gods"... they are all just fractions of the same global system God is.
What if I am in fact a God, but don’t know it?
The funny thing is you are ;)
You just don't know it ;)
Joking aside,
The first thing we learn in the OT about Life is that they are a part of God (its "life force").
What if you are in fact a God, but don’t know it?
I can assure you.. I am not :)
In short, how would you know if you’re a God?
You dont.
And how could you tell if someone else is one too?
You cant.
Would both of your parents have to be Gods???
Nope. You don't have parents as you are not a physical thing.
You are mixing it up with MU and DCU :)
Also, what is the difference between a God and a non-God?
There is no non-God.
Disclaimer: don’t worry, I don’t believe that I'm a God :D
Lol... Thank god ;)
God is not an entity. it is an abstract idea.
It cannot be described, it cannot be molded. it cannot be seen. it cannot be imagined. At least this is what God claims in the OT.

Because one of the most fundamental principles of deity is transcendent knowledge - so, trust me, if you don't know whether or not that you are a god, then you aren't one. But, rather, an extremely deluded and fallible human just for entertaining the idea.

Is this a requirement of a god? If so, why?

While we're on the topic, why would such a god choose to let some people just die of cancer?

Most of the gods I've heard of have Hell and Heaven. And all of them apparently let people die--all people--or cancer and other causes. How did you come to be a god (i.e. judging whose death is just or fair)?

It may be relative. You may be considered a god from an ants perspective. I might consider an alien life form that is advanced beyond our comprehension to be a god.

Richard Dawkins nailed this ....

“The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”

So, if you meet those criteria you could be a god.

Quoted like an infallible prophet.

The idea of ‘being your own god’ is popular in the LHP... but honestly the “godhood” I’ve witnessed in every single one of these self described ‘gods’ was beyond disappointing.

The Christian and Muslim faiths are spin-offs of the Jewish faith, and early Jews were polytheists. Ergo, all Christians and Muslims should believe that other Gods do (or did) exist. If they don't believe in the Jewish faith, then how can they believe in the bible?

It is possible that many Gods exist but are ignored because the most powerful God among them would be jealous if we worshipped others.

More on this:
I worship many gods. I honour them. I give offerings. I seek their wisdom and try to form a relationship. I may do some things that they ask. But I do not serve them. I serve no one only myself. Nor do the gods exist to serve me. They do their own thing. In this way im my own god. And I do have an altar to myself.
Of course it is possible to serve a God without worshipping him (perhaps fearing him). It is also possible to worship a God without serving Him.

However, one must ponder if the God is real.

A God has ichor, drinks nectar, and eats ambrosia.

A non-God does/has nothing of the above.

So, except for diet, Gods and non-Gods are the same?

I attended the Greek Orthodox Church festival (local event), and told the assistant priest that their food is much better than Lutheran's (Diet of Worms).

I don't think this makes sense. To me, the word "God" implies monotheism or monism, which is a very different concept from the lowercase "god" found in polytheism. I don't think that the two concepts are really comparable.

I might even argue that, in a sense, most Catholics are polytheists given the way that they regard the Archangels, but they're also simultaneously monotheists due to their belief in a singular Godhead. This isn't a contradiction in terms. You can be both a polytheist and a monotheist, because a belief in "gods" and a belief in "God" are two completely separate things.

I don't know how you would have multiple capital G Gods, because part of the definition of such a being is its singularity. Anything else wouldn't be God.

“Monolatrist” and “henotheist” are words sometimes used to describe someone such as myself who worships a Supreme God at the head of the pantheon, but also several other gods and goddesses who some might perceive as “angels” or “demons”.

I think the universe is infused with spirituality, so all of creation is technically "god," or at least part of god.

I like what Ram Dass said, "Treat everyone like God in drag."
