I disagree. There are way too many examples of people exercising choice to conclude that those raised in a particular religion are unable to leave.

I'm seeing "unable" as a limitation of the individual,
rather than one posed by society / government.

I was raised in a Southern Baptist family. Faith was in the very fabric of the family, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, parents.

Yet, in college I renounced the faith, and became an atheist. The fact that later in life I corrected that error is irrelevant to the point that I left the Faith for years.

My experience has been repeated thousands, perhaps millions of times, and many suffered dearly for their choice,

Many grow up with a faith, & it never even dawns on them to choose another.
And many might change, but have emotional & intellectual traits such that
they are limited in their choice, eg, switching from Baptist to Methodist, but
with atheism an impossibility.

What I find sad is someone who claims to be a cop arguing that the people he supposedly arrested over his career weren't criminals. You're so desperate to defend your corrupt president that you're happy to make yourself out to be a fool.

A few people were debating if this is a Christian nation. Years ago, I used to participate in debates on this forum and I always disputed that characterization.

Ironically, today, I would welcome it if the US became a Christian nation. Almost anything would be preferable to a Trump Nation.

At least Christians have some admirable values and principles they adhere to. Trump has none.
