I wish them much success, victory, health, and happiness. Strong women who are willing and able to fight are very important...maybe even the biggest key to finally fixing that "fudged" up region of the world.
Who seriously sends their women to battle?YPG's Women's Wing (YPJ) Battles Islamic State in Syria's Kurdish Land | New Republic

Perhaps they send themselves into battle?Who seriously sends their women to battle?
What's wrong with women going to combat? And I haven't got the impression they are being forced to. It's admirably they are holding their ground and fighting back. And apparently ISIS believes that if they are killed my a woman in battle, they don't go to Paradise. Not that they'd go to Paradise anyways, if the Quran is true, but they deserve to have the fear they have inflicted upon others to be inflicted on themselves.Who seriously sends their women to battle?

Have you read the Quran? What ISIS is doing is not at all consistent with Islamic Law. They are just as Muslim as the Provisional IRA was Christian.I support these women and the Kurds.
I gotta say though that I think ISIS is behaving very plausibly based on the Quran. I'd go so far as to say that ISIS is what you get when you apply Occam's razor to the Quran.
... wishful thinking at best, intellectual dishonesty at worst. Religious expression comes through a spectrum's range: followers can be kind and cuddly like the Teletubbies, or brutally ruthless like the IS. To detach extreme rigorism from religion itself would be to hinder the progressive interfaith dialogues that wish to exfoliate on the downsides of their religion, often keeping in mind that religious violence is a legitimate expression of one's religion but is incompatible, as per those that engage in such progressive dialogues, with today's world.Have you read the Quran? The link I provided will bring you to an open letter that contains that list at the beginning. The site the image with that list that I provided comes from a site (which is where I found the link I provided) that may be too graphic for RF.Hi Shadow Wolf,
Yes, I have read the Quran It's also my understanding that the leader of ISIS has an advanced degree (PhD) in Islamic studies. I understand that other Islamic scholars claim he's got it wrong, but they have to do some mental gymnastics to come to that conclusion.
As for your list, where did you get that list? I can say that my reading of the Quran did not leave me with the claims you make in your list!

It is translated, so it should be expected that it won't necessarily be an easy read. Thanks, I skimmed through the open letter. Did you notice how un-parsimonious it is? In other words, did you notice how complex, and twisty-turny the letter's explanations are? This is the problem that peaceful Islamic scholars have. They have to figure out how to take basically nasty scripture and re-paint it as peaceful.
On the other hand, you can go down the checklist and see how ISIS is - in many cases - following exactly what the Quran says or following exactly the examples that Muhammad demonstrated in his life. ISIS's take on Islam is - unfortunately for the world - an extremely defensible interpretation.
