I've made up my mind

La ilaha illa Allah wa-Muhammad rasul Allah.

There is no god but God and Muhammad is the prophet of God.

Islam it is for me. My attachment to my liberal views remains strong and I become Muslim in the clear knowledge that Islam is a religion for everyone no matter how liberal their views. Indeed I expect my adherence to a peace-loving, tolerant outlook to grow in Islam. Because that is the example I see in the Prophet pbuh.

Badshah Khan will be my role model and I embrace a religion of peace, beauty and tranquility.

The journey begins :)

That is Stephenw's choice, not yours. Whatever Stephenw chooses, may God always guide him towards His own abode. :)

And Islam is a beautiful path of God. Remember, that God is God... He is neither Hindu or Muslim. Even the Guru Granth Sahib takes its inspiration from the Holy Qur'an.

"Say: He is God, the One!
God, the eternally Besought of all!
He begetteth not nor was begotten.
And there is none comparable unto Him.
"

-- Al-Ikhlas (The Unity), 112

"Say unto the People of the Scripture: Dispute ye with us concerning God when He is our Lord and your Lord? Ours are our works and yours your works. We look to Him alone."

-- Al-Baqarah (The Cow), 2:139

There really is no room for this, especially in a DIR and even more so when someone has made a decision to follow Islam (or whatever path they choose). Time will tell if he stays on the right path, but nobody here should judge another about anything. Intentions are nearly impossible for us to determine, and that judgement is left for Allah only. :)
