Lauren Boebert kicked out of musical in Denver

Always a class act, eh? I've never even approached being kicked out of any establishment, I paid money, to get into. I do not understand this level of narcissism and entitlement.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever been thrown out of a public place.

A manager did get mad at me for a return once, and say "You know returning this will cost the store money, right?" But I don't return things excessively either, the thing I was returning came defective, and I'd say the statement was more a reflection on the manager's character than my own.

It should be noted that Denver is not in Lauren Boebert's Congressional District, which is in the western part of the state. I was reading this other article from the Denver Post on the incident. Apparently this isn't her first run-in with the law.

Drew Sexton, the campaign manager for Boebert, told The Post that the second-term congresswoman denied vaping during the show. She did use her cellphone to take a picture of the performance, unaware that photos weren’t allowed.

“I can confirm the stunning and salacious rumors: in her personal time, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is indeed a supporter of the performing arts (gasp!) and, to the dismay of a select few, enthusiastically enjoyed a weekend performance of ‘Beetlejuice,’ ” Sexton wrote in a statement. He noted that The Post’s review of the show last week described it as “zany,” “outrageous,” and a ‘lusty riot.’ ”

While Sunday’s incident was resolved without much trouble, Boebert has found herself in trouble before. She was arrested and summonsed at least four times in the years leading up to her election to Congress in 2020.

In her first month in office, Boebert — known as an avid defender of the Second Amendment — reportedly attempted to walk through newly installed metal detectors, which sounded as she did. She then refused to turn over her bag to Capitol Police, who in turn refused to let her enter House chambers, according to reporters on the scene.

Last summer, her family made headlines when her husband reportedly threatened their neighbors during what the Garfield County sheriff described as a neighborhood disturbance. No arrests were made. In May, Boebert announced that she and her husband were divorcing.

They didn't say who she was with on the night she was kicked out of the theater.

"Officials for the venue said Boebert was vaping, singing, and illegally recording during the performance."

She sounded wasted, and that she had a great time.
Yeh, wasted, no doubt.

The people seated near her in the theater probably weren't having as great a time, thanks to her vaping stanking up the place.

Or her singing like a coyote in heat when people paid to hear the performers sing.

Or her obscuring the view of others by holding up her phone in the air to illegally record the show.

Speaking just for myself, I've really got to lay off on my Boebert bashing, what with Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) starting tomorrow evening and leading this sacred time of seeking forgiveness for oneself and granting forgiveness to others.

But there's just something so egregious in this woman's behavior that I can't ignore. Especially where she confronted the theater's security personnel with that age-old statement of arrogance: "Do you know who I am?" followed up with the ultimate of all Karen-type threats (this one suggesting an abuse of power): "I will be contacting the mayor."

Fortunately, I've found relief in the many responses posted in this inspiring thread started by @Quintessence:

If only Lauren Boebert (and a few others in politics who aren't worth naming here) could read it and maybe learn a little humility from it. Maybe then she might lend some dignity to the job that her constituents have entrusted to her.
