Laziness

Most nights I do. Some nights I don't. I don't think I do too bad. It's mostly on the weekends when I'm working 12 hours that my sleep is skimped.
I'm just debating on whether or not to recommend you talk to a doctor about a sleep study. You could have a sleeping disorder.

I had a similar issue with being exhausted all the time. Turns out not just because I was working a lot. I had a case of undiagnosed sleep apnea.

It's likely that it's because I've been sitting around a lot. It seems like I get into a state of procrastination and then I don't move around enough, and then it's just inertia from there. Also, if chores pile up then it makes me groggy just thinking about where to begin. Once I start getting things off the list I feel better, it's mainly just getting to starting it.

Ugh, I have this problem. Let me know if you find a fix lol

Hmm. It's something to consider, but I don't think it's severe enough to consider. I think it's my own fault.

Yeah... getting started can be hard...

What's lazy, exactly?

Seems to me it is a narrative that emerges from setting expectations. We tell ourselves (or maybe someone else told us) that you should do this, that, or the other thing. For whatever reason, we listened to those expectations. Then, when we inevitably fail to meet them, we beat ourselves up over it. Its kind of silly when you think about it. It's a self-caused "problem" if one can even call it a problem to begin with. Stop setting bad expectations (either your own or accepting those others hoist onto you) and "lazy" is no longer a thing at all. You instead can simply be yourself, as you are, as you will. Just be.

All this assumes, note, that we aren't talking about a medical condition (fatigue).

I don't do lazy any more. There are days when I have little to do, but that's different than being lazy or relaxed. I'm pretty sure it's a habit pattern I developed from helping raise 5 kids and being a dedicated teacher for 30 years. Habit patterns stick with you.

How often do you find that you become lazy? How lazy do you become in these moments on a scale of 1 (I get the bare minimum done) to 10 (nothing gets done)? And how long does the laziness linger? A day? A week? A month?

If you don't struggle with laziness. How??
I'm lazy, even when I'm not in a depressive episode. So, sometimes it is hard to discern.

There used to be a time when I just started living on my own and used to throw pizzaboxes behind me as soon as I've used them, without a mom getting angry and lecturing me about decency and hygiene and such and felt good about it.
Nowadays, although I'm still not exactly the the neat and tidy kind of person, I've learnt the hard way what the benefits are when you clean that kind of stuff up as soon as you can.

Throwing pizza boxes on the floor is good for cats who may want to sharpen their nails on them. This way, they use the box and not the couch.

Not that I know from experience or anything...
