My solutions are practical and less radical than what the Islamists are doing to Muslims. The illiteracy problem among Muslims are real and should be taken seriously. Infidels would love to help Islam be a religion of peace. That can only happen if the majority of illiterate Muslims can read the Quran. The prophet would be pleased!!!

No one here is defending the Islamists, nor is anyone denying there is a literacy problem, especially when it comes to reading the Qur'an... which always leads me to ask why "God's literal word" was written in such a difficult, geographically-specific language.

A better question would be. Why was an illiterate Arab prophet hiding in a cave looking for God?
Answer: To get away from the smouldering desert heat that had already partially fried his brains. The tradition method of sticking ones head in the sand to escape the heat was not very practical. God's literal word was already written in the Bible in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek 600 years before the illiterate Arab prophet thought of an Arabic version. Unfortunately he was illiterate and could not read or write Arabic. So he recited his shaded thoughts to scribes returning from their daily sun worshipping rituals. Several hours a day with you head in the hot sand and your backside raised high to trap any breeze can have strange effects on the brain. And it did!!! That is why the Quran came out like it did. It was written in a difficult geographical area in Arabic the language the prophet spoke which the scribes wrote under such circumstances.

What should keep you up at night like all the other illiterate Muslims is the radical Islamists don't tolerate the indifference illiterate Muslims are showing by not reading the Quran. Islam is not only for those who participate. The goal of Islam should be to educate all Muslims so they can read the Quran. There are 800 million illiterate Muslims and many more millions that cannot read the Quran because it is written in Arabic.

You raise a good point. All Muslims are illiterate because they do not have the freedom of thought and even Muslim intellectuals are mentally blind.

But what were the Muslims expecting when they chose an illiterate Arab as their prophet. Mohammad should have turned the Muslims to God instead of trying to recite from memory what he had heard as a child about divine revelations in the bible.
