Left-wing scum are swatting Republican politicians.

So you approve of swatting Republicans then?
Don't try trick questions with me, pal.

But if you must know, I think that Republicans have voluntary renounced most of their respectability, and at this point I have a hard time respecting them beyond basic decency.

Edited to add: but above anything else, I am flabbergasted by how deeply hypocritical and dishonest they have become.

Too late. Youve already spoken for it in the thread title.

You obviously disapprove, but I notice you were silent when asked to comment on right-wingers doing the same, and I have to say I'm with you there in your partisanship, but rooting for the other team. I'm indifferent to anything the left does to the right. They've lost my empathy, and in my opinion, it is virtually impossible to be unfair to MAGA Republicans, which are the majority of elected Republicans. Trump is a good example. He claimed that the election had been stolen from him, which was a lie of course, but my thoughts were that if that were true, good job! And if he is thrown off ballots using legal sleight-of-hand, that's too bad.

Or when the Congress accuses the Democrats of partisan power grabs, my feeling is the same. If that's true, good luck to them. Keep grabbing as much power from them as possible. The right are the enemy now, not the loyal opposition they were when I was born in the middle of the last century. They were part of "we" then, but no longer. I have no more empathy for them than for Putin or Hamas, neither of which would it be possible to be unfair or unjust with.

Is that wrong?
Oh, like this:

Or all the death threats that are routine now for any law enforcement personnel involved in due process against Trump's criminal activity? Has @Twilight Hue started a thread about these acts against public servants?

Aye, SWAT teams are militarized weapons
who treat civilians as a dangerous enemy.
Their training is geared towards assault
rather than service, their due diligence to
ensure they're attacking the correct address
is slipshod, their accountability is lacking, &
their attitude is violent & profanity laced
hatred for parents & their children.
I've dealt with the SWAT team here and my experience with them was the exact opposite of what you describe. They were professional and the detectives were thankful for my help. The CPD tends to be well-trained and my interactions with them have been mostly positive. They've helped me before when I needed a ride home or wanting to kill myself, and one even remembered it years later to ask how I was. I didn't even recognize him!

That can be what usually happens. The problem is
that the alternative I speak of also occurs. The full
history of that same team might include some
clinkers kept from youtube.
It's like Russian roulette....you can have a couple lucky
turns. But it still has a high risk of that Deer Hunter
scenario occurring, & the red red krovvy flows.
ch
This happens a lot (especially in Chicago)....
Even children need to be shot....
Babies need grenades in the face...

**** these pigs who can't get an address correct,
don't bother to surveil a home to see who is there,
shoot to kill, & ask questions later, & don't have
to pay for their reckless mayhem.

Yes, I know there's bad cops and inept cops, okay. We don't need this to turn into another one of your cop hating threads. You have tons of those already, with one active right now. We get it.

Neither do we need your cop apologetics,
denying that the problem is more than
just a few bad apples.
Their crimes are tolerated & covered up by
their fellows in blue, making a huge segment
of idle enablers into bad cops.
Watch videos of cops abusing civilians, &
nearly always the cops watching allow the
illegal abuse to continue. They protect each
other...not the public.

When I stopped breaking the law, I stopped having encounters with good or bad cops! It was like a miracle or something! Today when I get pulled for expired tags or inspection, something in my brain says "don't jump out of the car and wrestle with the cops in the middle of the highway! You might get a cap busted in your arse!"

You're the one who replied to me with the cop bashing **** in the front place, and I just replied that I have a different experience. Stop acting like I'm stupid about this subject and take your attitude elsewhere. I just view the topic as more complex than your hysterical black and white caricature.

Stop being....nah...not going there.
If you can't take criticism of cops, this
isn't the best thread for you. You could
always start your own thread about it.
It's too early for this crankiness. I just view the topic as more complex than your hysterical black and white caricature.

so very many innocent people.

Let this speak for itself.

The thread title strikes me as inflammatory and unhelpful.

That said, I think swatting is an extremely dangerous and irresponsible practice that should be treated as a felony. I remember how some Twitch streamers have been swatted, for example:

It could get people killed. Anyone who participates in swatting someone should receive a harsh criminal penalty.

Wow, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. You're being nasty for no reason. Get a grip. Stop putting words into my mouth that I never said. Wtf.

I'm not trying to appeal to the right, which is still mostly pro-Trump MAGA. We have too little common ground any longer. Too few common values, and radically different views on what America should be. I wouldn't know how to reach them, anyway except maybe to express MAGA opinions or defend Trump.

Four decades of Republican politicians, conservative indoctrination media, and eventually, rank-and-file Republican voters treating liberals as the enemy has pretty much set the tone for me. The right is not the other half of "we" any longer. It's "they" now, and I've become indifferent to their wishes or well-being.

That's your job. Not mine.
Your job is divisive political rhetoric. Republicans can be unethical and criminal and it's no big deal, but if a Democrat does anything wrong, OMG!!!! That crosses the line. Conservatives don't even try to hide their hypocrisy, as that is part of the double standard they accept and believe is normal. Any time unethical Republican behavior is pointed out they cry foul, but the rare case of a Democrat doing the same, well, all hell breaks lose.

Democrats think unethical behavior is wrong, period. Republicans think it's only wrong when Democrats do it.
