My prediction: a week from now, doorbell camera footage from a neighbour will come out showing that the couple did it themselves.
That seems the most plausible explanation.
I think the second-most plausible explanation is that the couple has enemies that are apolitical but know the couple well enough to know that throwing "Antifa" into their vandalism would rile the couple up.

What would the motive be for "Antifa" deciding to target the minivan of a retired couple in suburban Lansing?
Most Antifas are sensible and would never do that.
