Linwood after an extensive internet search for the elusive Hostess King Dons, I have come to the conclusion that they are indeed the same cakes but are now called Hostess Ding Dongs. You have also given me a craving for a box of them.

Rizza and I are going to see ROBOTS tonight. I was wondering is there anything that people enjoy at the movies more so than at home? Is there a certain snack that completes the movie going experience? Do you keep things healthy by bringing your own snacks to the theater?

Can't wait till the drive-ins open up.

I have seen Hostess Ding Dongs at my grocery store but was unaware that they were really King Dons cleverly disguised.

I will have a box in my possesion shortly as the wife is leaving for the store in a few minutes.

Thank you Carderro, you`ve shown me the internet has far more value than I thought.

:)

Popcorn. I can never make it the same at home, as it is at the movies. And whenever I go to the movies, I must have popcorn. I usually make sure I haven't eaten before I go, so I can get the really big size and munch my way through the whole movie on it. :p

As for regular snacks at home, I don't tend to eat a lot. I do love hot cinnamon donuts though...and hot jam donuts (the ball ones with the jam in the centre). I especially love them when you know they've just been made before you buy them.
I like nuts if I'm in the mood (particularly brazil nuts, almonds and macadamia nuts). Chocolate if I'm in the mood. Cheese Supreme Doritos. For most snack foods I really need to be in the mood to eat it, or it's just bleh.

mrscarrdero has to have her popcorn at the movies. It is usually pot (tub) luck. Tonight's movie popcorn was too salty. Some days it is fine, some days it is only the little pieces or otherwise it is stale. I do not put that butter on it, I do not like the taste or texture of it.

I used to be fascinated by all foods made in a toaster. Push in a button and a few minutes you’re hot -snackin'. Kellogg’s Poptarts were a favorite and then I graduated to Pillsbury Toaster Strudel. Bagels, toasted bread were a favorite, anything that could be popped in a toaster. Kellogg’s used to make a toaster pastry called Merry Go Rounds. Does anyone remember this product? They were discontinued I would say… late 70’s.

I must say, the popcorn at the movies here in town is pretty consistent (and consistently good :p ). It's already buttered and salted, and they have just the right mixture of each to make my tastebuds tingle. All this talk of popcorn has me wanting to go to the movies just so I can have some...but I don't think there's anything playing that I actually want to go and see. :biglaugh:

A co-worker who relieved me from my shift noticed I was eating a bag of Quaker Rice cakes and she confessed that she enjoyed them as a snack as well. I was eating the chocolate flavored ones and she said that I should try them with peanut butter (she used all-natural peanut butter). I went home and immediately tried it but I added a piece of walnut on top and I discovered a new love for Quaker Rice cakes. I am sure that this idea works with peanut butter and a slice of banana too.

I've got to say my favorite snacks are anything chocolate or anything with peanutbutter Reeses pb cups are excellent . Also another favorite of mine is popcorn with m&m's in it or parmesan cheese sprinkled over the top, its pretty good although alot of people dont like it that way so its a sure way to keep it to yourself !Sunflower seed are good (the shelled ones) they are especially good on salad! *YUM,YUM* :D

I do not know if this is a new product but I just discovered a Turtle Mix from Chex snacks. It's a sweet and salty snack and I don't now whether to drink soda with it or pour milk over it. Sam's Club had those big industrial bags for sale and i thought I would give it a try being a big fan of those other Chex snax. The Turtle Chex Mix has chocolate wheat chex and caramel rice chex with peanuts and what appears to be chocolate beads (like mini M&Ms) with caramal popcorn and salty pretzel rings. If you like trying different snacks pick up a bag of Turtle Chex Mix.
