I don't know a whole lot about Quakers, but it seems a lot of folks on the forums have had positive experiences with them

Have you have any experiences with them?

What do you know about Quakerism?
My senior public and high school years were all at a boys private boarding school run by Quakers in Newmarket, Ontario. See campus picture below. These were the happiest times of my young life, I gratefully admit it. All of my experience of members of the Society of Friends (I knew lots, and I attended Quakers meetings) were all most positive. Among the least judgemental, and kindest people it has been my pleasure to know.

He also believed music to be sinful
More on this...lot of early Quakers were against music if written by men. But if the Spirit aka Inner Light wrote it then it was free game. Nice little loop hole. Solomon Eccles was one who believed that and he would write about how amazing making music is while believing if he wrote it outside of the Spirit it was sinful

How could one tell if it was Spirit or Man writing it?

You ever seen someone overtaken by an inner religious experience? It's why the Quakers were known as Quakers. They would quake during worship. I reckon it's based on that inner experience how you could tell.

I've seen a spirit possession, but I'm not sure if that's the same.

That's pretty cool, about the quaking. Yeah, I'm sure in that circumstance one could tell.
