I think that is sarcasm.
Then you need to learn to understand what sarcasm is, imo.
I was saying exactly what I think about how individual people's sexuality is.

It will be only confusion if we continue on this path. Everyone wants to get noticed for being unique...cool.
Everybody is unique. If you doubt that, then just look at our DNA, our fingerprints, our Eye patterns....... our characters...

Can you imagine the forms people would have to fill out in the future? There would be reams of characteristics you would have to check off to make sure you were just you. It would be anarchy.
Form filling leading to anarchy? Huh?
No....... to make sure that we are just ourselves, all we need is eye, finger or dna recognition systems.
Form filling is ok and is unlikely to lead to a breakdown in our social systems.... :D

But people care too much about what other people like or don't like. Live and let live.
You have just written two sentences which contradict each other. Caring about other people is all about living and letting to live.

We would do well to understand and respect the fact that people's individual sexualities can and do differ.

Let's just have a gender and sexuality for everyone on the planet, each one uniquely different from the next. You'd have to pulp all the trees on the planet to make a few forms with just those options, I'm sure you would have a blast looking for your specific kind in that list too.

I take it you never saw Brazil(1984). You should check that out to know what I am talking about.

Oh no you don't! You're not sneaking gender into all of this.

I have often been asked for my gender and marital status on various forms, but in seventy years I have NEVER been asked to disclose my SEXUALITY!

So don't waste your trees on that account, because it's a false one.

Whatever you're talking about you clearly don't have many clues about forms, or how important it is to give people freedom of sexual choice.

I will tell you my experience. When I was in sixth grade I realized I liked males and not girls-
I thought it was normal. When I talked about it with my classmates they told me it was abnormal and that males normally like females.

So....that's an example of isolating other people because they're unwillingly different.

so I cannot accept people who are willingly different

Fair enough.

I thought it was normal. When I talked about it with my classmates they told me it was abnormal and that males normally like females.
So your classmates were all imprinted with the bigotry of those who brought them up., maybe?
How about busting that all up for the next generation rather than passing it on?

So....that's an example of isolating other people because they're unwillingly different.
No, that's an example of cultural bigotry isolating people rather than just accepting who and what they are.

so I cannot accept people who are willingly different
Well that's sad for you, you obviously got clawed back into and consumed by the prejudiced culture that was all around you.
Where I live we are doing all that we can to protect, support and accept all people regardless of their sexuality, gender, marital status, age, ability/disability, race, creed, religion, skin colour, and more.

If you can't accept folks then you got beat over into becoming one of the pack...... that's sad, imo.

And the pronoun thing is stupid.

At one site I frequent, you can set your 'Preferred pronouns' to... are you ready? Are you sitting? Are you reeeeally ready?

Any of the standard pronouns changed to xe, xim, xis, zers, ze, em, eirs, zeirs, etc. And yes, they are used. I haven't seen xou, zou or ou yet. :D

By creating a group (LGBT) you contribute to ghettoize people who are (or feel) different

It's a learning curve. When I was young, I didn't consider myself male or female none less knew what they were. Then I realized I was what they call a lesbian. Later on I dislike the term because it doesn't describe a part of me but attraction As me. Now I identify as a gay woman (and a average woman. And a creative woman). It describes a part of me without defining me as X or Y.

I think the letters are a middle phase of finding ones identity. Sometimes language helps. I go to an LGBT site where young adults from mostly 12 on 18ish share what their challenges. So when they say they are Trans, nonbinary, somewhat aromatic, woman, it's not an overload but just saying these things are a part of me. I haven't yet describes them distinctly to myself but these words help make what I feel in one word until I get this out.

As for the acrynoms LGBTQ etc etc that I feel is too much. But I see the use of the words just I keep it as LGBTQ.

Actually, the LGBT community formed due to a common culture and experience, to have our space and to provide safety and security from oppression, discrimination and bigotry. It can be a ghetto but so can any other community that people don't want to venture outside of.

I'm a poet. Words are powerful and a beautiful way to captualize ones identity in art form. Some define themselves by dance (above). Some by art. Others are activist. It really depends. It's very personal and individual to each person.

I've actually never seen anyone use those pronouns in real life and I know quite a few non-binary people. It's dumb.
